For me it’s Ben Wallace or Liz Truss. No idea how good either would be but for some reason I am drawn to them.

who do you all think it should be?

If I have to pick from the Tories then Sajid,

If im being forced to chose a tory then Sajid

User74936782 · 08/07/2022 20:43

Not Jeremy Hunt, we will be in perpetual lockdown, not Rishi because of the family billions. Probably Ben Wallace or Javid.

A labour politician!

Not if it's our MP. She's useless and next doors toddler woud do better.

Bunnycat101 · 08/07/2022 20:44

Someone who doesn’t want it.I have much more respect for the ones currently considering it, talking in through with the family etc than those who want it (and have been producing slick campaign videos…)

They are all so desperate to be PM but I don’t feel like many of them want to do it for the right reasons. As unpopular as Theresa May was I genuinely believe she felt a sense of duty and responsibility as PM. I could see her sticking things out in the Lords when she eventually gets made a peer and turning up to vote etc into old age

EltonsSpareGlasses · 08/07/2022 20:45

I think it will be Tugendhat or Wallace

SilentHedges · 08/07/2022 20:46

NOT Penny Mordaunt. Womens rights will be trashed.

isadoradancing123 · 08/07/2022 20:49

Not Truss or Hunt

Lonelycrab · 08/07/2022 20:54

I’d like a Labour govt, with input from Lib and green. Repair the damage.

I think it’ll come down to Hunt and Wallace.

ThreeRingCircus · 08/07/2022 21:00

I also think it needs to be someone totally new and not tainted by links to Boris Johnson. I would love for it to be Tobias Ellwood or Tom Tugendhat, both eminently sensible and have charisma but also morals.

If it had to be a cabinet minister I'd say Sajid Javid. He has zero charisma but he does have principles.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 08/07/2022 21:03

Bob Mortimer.

DoubleShotEspresso · 08/07/2022 21:05

Hugh Grant

This

shame about Sunak but agree with public perception issue

MephistophelesApprentice · 08/07/2022 21:09

Larry the Cat. I reckon he was behind all the partygate leaks, doing his job as pest remover. Some rats just take longer than others.

I certainly believe he's got more competence, honesty and compassion than any tory.

CactusBlossom · 08/07/2022 21:09

Anyone except a Tory

Lol, love this. Yes I’d be happy for Larry to be the new PM

agree with PP that it shouldn’t be Sunak. He was involved in partygate.

Problems with every one of them (including the opposition front bench) - Tom Tugendhat if we don't get a general election, Yvette Cooper if we do.

And a move to PR please. There'll be no overall majority most of the time, and the crusading egomaniacs (on both wings) will have to start listening to each other if they want to get anything done...

xalo · 08/07/2022 21:20

Tom Tugendhat- a moderate pragmatist - super clever and hated by Boris as he wiped the floor with him as chair of the foreign affairs committee.

CuriousCatfish · 08/07/2022 21:21

Jeremy Corbyn.

pilates · 08/07/2022 21:22

Rishi

frugalkitty · 08/07/2022 21:23

Martin Lewis would get my vote. Of the actual likely candidates......no idea, I'm just weary of the whole thing to be honest.

leotardrock · 08/07/2022 21:25

Rishi? Have you not seen the #readyforrishi video? It is mortifying!

Pyewhacket · 08/07/2022 21:30

Penny Mordaunt or Liz Truss. No to Javid, Sunak or Wallace.
