I’m hot and bothered and I have access to an air conditioner fan. Won’t switch it on though because the cats in the room and she hates it.

She’s all chilled out, and relaxed so I don’t want to upset her and make her run

Dh don’t get my reasoning. Hmm

This sounds normal to me.

I often have to use my second choice blanket as the dog or cats are using the best one!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 08/07/2022 19:13

Actually avoided going on hols for longer than 2/3 nights cos Spongecat used to pine a bit, despite being spoiled rotten by catsitter.

Trulyweird1 · 08/07/2022 19:13

Yeah. I spent a lot of time in a silent house because ddog1 doesn’t like music/ chat / whatever.
Bless him, he’s deaf now and ddog2 doesn’t care. I feel liberated 😁

Motheranddaughtertotwo · 08/07/2022 19:14

This is so funny! What your saying makes total sense.
I got into bed last night and moved around the dog, IN MY BED. Yes, they are our bosses but they are so wonderful that they deserve it all.

bellac11 · 08/07/2022 19:14

Turn over in bed.

Sciatica city.

Girliegirl83 · 08/07/2022 19:14

DB is a professional guitar player and song writer. Dcat hates him playing the guitar. DB never practices if the cat is inside.

Cavviesarethebest · 08/07/2022 19:15

My entire life revolves around my dogs emotional state 🤷‍♀️

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 08/07/2022 19:15

We used to watch family fortunes on mute because the dog didn't like the sounds when someone got an answer right or wrong

Girliegirl83 · 08/07/2022 19:17

Our dcat loves to eat supper with us. We have to make sure she has some fresh fish when we are eating. It really is ridiculous.

That's adorable

Iheartmysmart · 08/07/2022 19:20

DDog hates the sound of my phone pinging or ringing so I keep it on silent all the time. He also doesn’t like the hoover so I have to sweep up with a broom unless he’s gone for a sleepover with grandma.

Soubriquet · 08/07/2022 19:20

Glad to see I’m not the only loony.

DH hates it when I say I can’t come to you because the cat/dog is on me.

Hes like “move them!!” No!

😱

You can’t move a sleeping pet! It’s against the law!

I can’t hoover, use the hairdryer or practice my musical instrument if the cat is settled anywhere in the vicinity, because he hates all of them and I don’t like to upset him!

Soubriquet · 08/07/2022 19:38

I’m laid in my room, naked cos I’m hot, watching tv, and I’ve had to drape some cloth over my stomach because the cat wanted to lay there.

She’s like a little furnace but she’s purring away..so it’s worth it

I have to avoid hoovering if the cat is sleeping nearby.

I also stupidly get up at sunrise to open the cat flap and let her out for the morning. I do try and ignore her but she systematically knocks everything off my bedside table, if I don't let her out at her chosen time.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 08/07/2022 19:49

Ah @Lindy2 the pushing stuff feline terrorism. Every cat we've ever had has done this. We get fair warning. Bat on face. Ignore bat on face. Maybe another one, followed by systematically pushing things off the bedside cabinet, watching them drop, then waiting for a result before rinse and repeat....

I hate getting the suitcases out for holidays in front of the dog. He looks so sad.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 08/07/2022 19:55

I'm allowed to hoover, but I have to pause regularly so that ddog can attack it. I can tell when she's gearing herself up, because she does a little tippy-toe dance before darting in to bite the hoovery bit.

chiffchaffchiff · 08/07/2022 19:55

Awww @NashvilleQueen I have cats so I only hate it because they like to climb inside them 🤣

I will hold a wee until the point of desperation if one of our two cats has sat in my lap. Also the Maine Coon (8kg of absolutely fluff and heat) decided to hop into bed at 4am this morning and purr his heart out while laying on my back. I was sweltering but didn't have the heart to move him. It's such an honour.

AmbushedByCake · 08/07/2022 19:56

My old dog used to jump into the suitcase to stop me packing my stuff into it when I was going back to Uni after the holidays.

ReadtheReviews · 08/07/2022 19:57

Well I put them out of the room if I'm using the blender as they hate it. Same with frying onions. I don't not do things, just pop them somewhere else to spare them. Mil was terrible for this, she wouldn't travel anywhere as her dog was car sick and she wouldn't leave her with anyone. Missed time with her granddaughter, sons graduation, all parties etc etc. Would also not pop dog in the kitchen when we visited with new baby so never felt relaxed putting the baby on the floor.
