I’m hot and bothered and I have access to an air conditioner fan. Won’t switch it on though because the cats in the room and she hates it.

She’s all chilled out, and relaxed so I don’t want to upset her and make her run

Dh don’t get my reasoning. Hmm

I can’t play a particular MJ song as it has car beeping/horn sounds that upsets her nervous state.

I also have my phone on silent and avoid hovering around her, just in case it disturbs her.

The most ridiculous one is avoiding anything spicy in my food when I eat around her as she always likes my leftovers!

namechangeanonymous · 08/07/2022 19:58

Can't get the suitcases out either - somehow she just knows and it makes me sad. I now pack into a ironing basket and put into case last minute when she goes to "Auntie Sams house for her holiday"

  • hovering, not hovering. Plus other typos!
NellesVilla · 08/07/2022 19:59

hoovering ffs!

This is so funny! What your saying makes total sense.
I got into bed last night and moved around the dog, IN MY BED. Yes, they are our bosses but they are so wonderful that they deserve it all.

OMG isn't that the truth . I'm a contortionist around my dogs invariably hanging over the side

ifonly4 · 08/07/2022 20:01

Hoovering, making the bed and sometimes dusting if they're where I'd need to stand. Luckily, DH knows the pecking order

Mol1628 · 08/07/2022 20:01

Ha yes my sciatica is always worse when I’ve been sleeping in a weird position to avoid the dog.

I can’t have my Tv on the surround sound speakers either because it scares her.

lospolloshermanosass · 08/07/2022 20:02

Yep, if my cat is asleep I'll wait for him to go out to Hoover.

puddlesofmothers · 08/07/2022 20:02

I rang ahead today to see if the place MOTing my car would allow my dog into the waiting room.

whirlyhead · 08/07/2022 20:06

My little furry angel has to sleep on my favourite pillow. So I have to put another one in front for me so I sleep with my feet hanging off the end of the bed.

they all hate people sneezing so I’ve learnt to sneeze quietly. The looks they give you otherwise! I still say “sorry zig” in memory of a now dead cat every time I sneeze. He used to leave the house if you sneezed.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 08/07/2022 20:07

My DM can't use the hoover, fan or fly spray or her cat will lose her sh*t and will attack her /bite her toes when she is asleep 🤭.

ifonly4 · 08/07/2022 20:08

Soubriquet I have two furnaces. Even if I lye on my side they're there. They're currently under next door's drive, but ifvI attemp to sit properly or lye down, ping, they'll follow. Might appreciate them in winter with fuel bills going up🤨

007DoubleOSeven · 08/07/2022 20:10

My cat needs COMPLETE SILENCE to eat her dinner.

Doesn't matter what you're doing in the kitchen, you CAN'T do it quietly enough and it CAN wait.

Clymene · 08/07/2022 20:13

I have a robo vacuum cleaner I barely use because it freaks out the dog.

I often bend my body into weird shapes to accommodate him. All doors must be left open or he and the cat freak out.

SweetRuby · 08/07/2022 20:13

I changed my washing machine because my old one was so noisy it upset him when it spun.😀😊

Clymene · 08/07/2022 20:14

In bed. I bend my body into weird shapes in bed.

I have a vision of myself now like those little Microsoft stick men you used to get Grin

QueSyrahSyrah · 08/07/2022 20:16

I sleep curled up in a ball after the early hours, which is when Dcat deigns joins us on the bed (always on my side, at the foot end Hmm)

I've also just gone around the lounge picking up bits of fluff and fur by hand because it really needs a good Hoover but Dcat is peacefully stretched out on the couch, and he hates the Hoover.

AlexCabot · 08/07/2022 20:20

We mute the theme tune to Neighbours as the dog (best boy in the whole wide world, absolute love of my life) doesn't like it.

Won't be an issue in a couple of weeks though. Shame.

Tillsforthrills · 08/07/2022 20:21

Got meowed at angrily by my cat for having the telly on quite loud with shooting scenes. He was in the middle of a nap, got up, came over to me and meowed angrily until I turned down the TV.

Now I fast forward or turn down shooting scenes.

Amichelle84 · 08/07/2022 20:23

Haha 😂 we've just finished our dinner and I didn't want to take the plates to the kitchen because I'd have to pass the cat that is asleep and I didn't want to wake him

Annonnimoouse42 · 08/07/2022 20:27

I bought a new towel, took it out of bag and its still on bed - cat claimed it within seconds and hasn't been off it since

Weelegs29 · 08/07/2022 20:31

DDog is quite partial to a McDonalds beef patty... I won't ever get one if I'm out without her incase she would feel left out. Not sure how she would know but she just would

Hedgepiggy · 08/07/2022 20:34

This reminds me of a colleague who upon visiting retired parents in December asked why they had the patio doors open and were wearing their coats inside! They replied it was for the benefit of the much adored elderly jack russell sat between them who enjoyed a crisp breeze in the morning 🤣

Floralnomad · 08/07/2022 20:36

I was given a Ninja Foodie as a Christmas present a couple of years ago , used it twice and it had to go because the beeping noise upset the dog .

mathanxiety · 08/07/2022 20:38

I avoid nature documentaries on TV because Dcat likes to attack animals, birds, and insects on the screen.
