He’s just announced it!!

I grew up as a teenager listing to 'Read and Wright in the Afternoon' on Radio 210 (Radio Reading). I thought they were brilliant as a young teen. Not anymore....

Anyone else remember them from the 70s?

I only remember Steve Wright from Radio One in the 'Mr Angry' days.

I remember when Steve Wright started out his career on Radio 210 (Reading) and he had a show with Mike Read called the Read and Wright show. He must be pushing 70, I was at primary school at the time. Maybe he fancies retirement or doing something else?

Used to like him when he did his afternoon show on radio 1. The comedy characters. "Nooooooobody loves me". Don't feel I'm cool enough to listen to radio 1

Thank the good Lord, a whole new format is needed for that slot.

It's the same show he did on R1 when I was 18. Sometimes I inadvertently put it on and think I've got early onset dementia.

Ken is bloody brilliant. This week he had a contestant who declared herself very nervous, Ken was "right whatevs, on with the quiz".

Best news all week! Fucking FINALLY. Should have happened years ago. His insincere sycophantic interviews were unlistenable and don't get me started on Serious Jockin (no g, how many times?).

He was like the boring/boorish bloke at a family wedding, repeating the same old joke which wasn't funny in the first place. A dinosaur of the old R2.

I thought Ken Bruce was retiring a few years ago but he's still going! Love a bit of Ken. Love a bit of Liza too.
