I think Steve Wright was great back in the day but I agree that his singing over songs (I remember when Elton John''s 'Sacrifice' was played, he always sang harmonies over it), and Serious Jockin' are beyond irritating.
I do find Scott Mills on Popmaster difficult to listen to. If they ever try to replace the delight that is Ken Bruce, that will be the deal-breaker for me.
Zoe Ball's constant use of the word 'tellybox' makes me want to scream and her interview technique is atrocious. Instead of asking a guest "how did that make you feel?" she'll ask a barrage of "Were you expecting that? Did it make you feel happy? Or did you feel overwhelmed?' I know I wouldn't have even been able to think" sort of stuff. Grrr.
Apart from the warmth, professionalism and general awesomeness of Ken, I love OJ, Johnnie Walker, Vernon and Craig Charles.
Lisa Tarbuck, no way. I remember her covering for Ken one Good Friday years ago. She talked over the intro to the first ever radio play of Paul Weller's new song, then interrupted it half way through to blather on about which of her Easter eggs she'd be eating first on the Sunday. She's so much funnier in her own mind.
Oh, and I love Tony Blackburn and Rylan.
