Twizbe · 24/05/2022 22:05

And yet they won't change gun laws.

StarCourt · 24/05/2022 22:05

Just heard it on the news.
Primary school.
Fucks sake.

Nothappyatwork · 24/05/2022 22:06

Another one …. don’t forget to send your thoughts and prayers 🙄

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 24/05/2022 22:06

Oh hell.

And all they’ll do is offer thoughts and prayers.

youngestisapsycho · 24/05/2022 22:07

It's sickening, something like the 49th mass shooting this MONTH.

RichardOsmansXraySpecs · 24/05/2022 22:08

How bloody awful.
If I lived out there I’d be terrified of sending my kids to school, definitely think I’d home school them.

Riverlee · 24/05/2022 22:09

Oh no, this is the first I’ve heard of it. 14 kids killed. That’s effectively half a school class. Sending love to all the parents, family and friends.

StarCourt · 24/05/2022 22:09

How can they not see they need to change their gun laws

AllPlayedOut · 24/05/2022 22:09

14 kids killed

And a teacher.

Horrific doesn't begin to cover it. Those poor parents.

Annoyedandirritated · 24/05/2022 22:10

Just horrific my heart dropped when I saw the new alert

WildRosie · 24/05/2022 22:10

Whenever I see a news alert involving guns and schools, I think...America. Sadly, I was not disappointed this evening. What it it with the USA and guns and schools?

TheDuchessOfMN · 24/05/2022 22:11

I remember when Obama said “Doing nothing is not an option”

And yet nothing has been done 😔

Yep lots of people on Twitter saying it's 'unimaginable'...nope sadly it is quite the opposite

dancelikeyoudontgiveafuck · 24/05/2022 22:12

Not again 😭 how many times are they going to let this happen?!

Portiasparty · 24/05/2022 22:12

Usual story, there will be someone saying it's not guns that are bad, only people. They have the right to bear arms, blah, blah, blah. We have a lot of knife crime in the UK (true, but people are unlikely to kill 14 children at once). How can they live with themselves defending this when so many children are being killed.

Maytodecember · 24/05/2022 22:13

I’ve wondered for a few years why so many children in US are homeschooled. Can only assume events like this are a big reason.
Hasn’t it been documented that when questioned later killers have said they’d not have sought another weapon if a gun hadn’t been to hand. Yet no one will ban guns.
Those poor families tonight.

StarCourt · 24/05/2022 22:13

How can it be unimaginable when it happens so often

Georgeskitchen · 24/05/2022 22:13

It seems their right to bear arms takes priority over the rights of children not to be murdered in school.
I have visited The States a couple of times and generally find the Americans very friendly people, but it's so weird and scary going into Walmart and seeing guns on display for sale 😳😳

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 24/05/2022 22:15

There’s a BBC article about it that says most US school shootings are in high schools, and in elementary schools they’re ‘most commonly accidental.’

In most countries they’re practically unheard of and that’s bloody well how it should be.

TulipCat · 24/05/2022 22:16

I hate the NRA and the constant primacy they give to the right to bear arms. Well what about the rights of little kids not to die at school?

Reallyreallyborednow · 24/05/2022 22:17

They’re trying to ban abortion citing the right to life.

yet these kids have no right to life? Or more accurately, the right to own a gun is greater than a child’s right to life.
