Whats redactle?

It's even more fiendish than Semantle. It starts off by giving you a transcript of a Wikipedia article, with practically every word greyed, or redacted, out. You then start to guess the hidden words, with the objective being to guess the title and subject of the article.
Give it a go!

You try to work put the topic of a redacted Wikipedia article. If you guess a correct word it fills in that gap.

Yesterday was "inclined plane" so you needed words like force and friction.

You all did better than me. I knew the basic area so was doing fairly well on guesses but struggled to complete it.

What's the timing of this one? If I ask what "yesterday's" was would that spoil anything

I went down a long rabbit hole on that!

second one today. I spent ages guessing words and still had to look it up as I’ve no idea about the subject area.

yesterday and my son told me the answer because it’s part of his a levels.

so hard, if I don’t get an easy one tomorrow I don’t think it will make the daily list.

Not bad for a first attempt especially as I didn't realised you could/should scroll the passage as the first few words I had right didn't appear until lower down the page so I had no clues to help with my next choices. Once I realised I could/should scroll it all made sense and gave me a lot of help.

I think it flips over 16.00 UTC, which is currently 5pm in the UK.

I like this as I tend to do Semantle and Wordle etc in the morning, and then I'm looking for something else for the evening!

How do you guess or type anything?

I struggled at first also. I don't think it's setup for a phone screen, and everything is on top of each other, so the box where you enter your guesses is hidden. If you select the desktop site, then you can see all the boxes and where you enter your guesses, but you may need to zoom in a bit.

On Redactle are the words that appear supposed to show all the time so that you can build sentences? When I play it shows just the last guess so I have no clue.

I’ve tried Semantle too but even with a hint it’s just impossible. I don’t think I’m clever enough for these games 😐

The word you have just entered, if it's there, shows up as blue. It then remains uncovered, but not highlighted, so can be hard to spot as the article is quite long.

I’ve had 53 guesses and most of the article is still blank, and I’ve only guessed 3 words that didn’t appear at all. How are people getting 46 or 61? Does everyone get the same article? Started late last night.

no subject knowledge at all, so heavy amount of googling. Only my second day doing it. My son told me the answer the day before.

i think this might be too hard for me. I’d never have got either without googling.
