Thanks MrsElm - I'm hooked!

I can take no credit, someone linked to it on the Semantle thread.

Oh I love this. I did very badly on this first attempt but I’ll know better how to tackle the next one.

Didn’t use Google until the very, very end, but comments on this thread about trying a plural form did help a lot.

Neolara · 23/04/2022 19:50

So how do you actually win? By guessing the title? Im having a go for the first time and am doing spectacularly badly!

Yes, exactly that. The aim is to guess the title. You get there by steadily uncovering the words in the article.

It is very hard! But addictive!

Redcrayons · 23/04/2022 20:05

Annoyingly I had a form of the word at 49. Very little subject knowledge, again, so lots of googling.

I solved today's Redactle (#17) in 236 guesses with an accuracy of 39.83%. Played at www.redactle.com/

TheChurchOfEli · 23/04/2022 20:06

Someone please pm me a clue word. I’m sucking at this 😂 first timer here and I love the concept but I’m ill and getting frustrated 🙈

I've just reported my own post and asked for it to be removed, as I realise it's too big a clue for this early on!
Apologies 😳

TheChurchOfEli · 23/04/2022 20:14

Haha thank you @MrsElm you’ve started something here.

DP asked what I was getting frustrated at which lead us down a “le” game wormhole. He had never heard of heardle… fucker guessed it on one second out loud and ruined it for me 😂

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 23/04/2022 20:19

Oh this is good, but frustrating! I've got a good group of words on the go to fill in blanks, but it isn't actually helping me that much with the overall theme of the article! I need some more words from the introduction.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 23/04/2022 20:25

I tried yesterday's and though I got a few words I knew I was never going to get it so stopped guessing. I couldn't however see anywhere on the page where I could "give up" and be shown the answer - is it not possible to do that? I tried googling what yesterday's answer was but couldn't find it. Can anyone put me out of my misery and tell me what yesterday's was please?

@randomsabreuse you e just given the answer away. Report your post!!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 23/04/2022 20:28

Got it in 81. I'd have done better if I'd put the plurals in earlier!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 23/04/2022 20:29

I solved today's Redactle (#17) in 81 guesses with an accuracy of 49.38%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Yesterday was Chopin.

MrsElm · 23/04/2022 20:39

@randomsabreuse I have reported your post as it contains the answer.

Yesterday was Chopin.

Thank you! I never would have got that. I had the words music and piano appearing a lot but kept guessing more modern musicians. Is there no way for me to give up and get given the answer on the website? Or will I just need to ask in here when I inevitably can't get it every day?

If you click on info, it gives you the previous day's answer. But I haven't found a give up option yet.

Second one and now thoroughly addicted! Is there any way to do previous ones?

Took ages but I did it!

BowerOfBramble · 23/04/2022 21:49

Took me nearly 400 guesses, another one I’ve never heard of! I miss the days of carrot…

I solved today's Redactle (#17) in 147 guesses with an accuracy of 38.10%. Played at www.redactle.com/

So now I have this, Wordle, Nerdle, Semantle & Octordle. ENOUGH!

Lotsofpots · 23/04/2022 22:02

This one took me forever. Literally had never heard of it before - got the theme early but just don't know much of the terminology around this particular area.
