Boris has been fined - Tory voters, should he go?

NewYorker80 · 12/04/2022 13:43

Both Johnson and Sunak have received fines for the lockdown parties. No further details as yet.

Do any Conservative voters here think Boris should resign?

I’m not a Tory voter. Those of you who are saying there is a war on, it would make no difference whatsoever were he to go. (Atlee took over from Churchill at Potsdam).
In THIS country benefits and pensions have gone up 3% whilst inflation is running at a thirty year high. People are crying with fear over their gas and electric bills. People are going without heating and showers. People are going without food. They’re unable to pay they’re rent. This is as a direct result of Tory party policy. If you vote for this shower again you will be voting for one of the most corrupt governments in British History and you should be ashamed of yourself.

@cakeorwine facts the police investigate lots of supposed rules broken not all were found guilty doesn't mean they wasn't
Answer the question was you meeting colleagues and having food and beer meetings ?

skodadoda · 12/04/2022 18:57

@dreamingofsun

isnt it interesting that when you ask labour surporters a fairly easy question they cant/wont answer it and just sling mud at boris and conservative supporters? Its what the police said doesnt answer the crux of the question.
Precisely what the tories do.

NETSRIK · 12/04/2022 18:58

@TooBigForMyBoots

Is it a new Conservative thing that Tory supporters should be as mendacious and "pretend thick" as their leader?Confused
They see Michael Fabricant, Rees Mogg, Nadine Dorries etc. and think YES, I'm up for a bit of being as deluded and thick as they are.

There was clear laws about what was and was not acceptable in the workplace.

If we had to go away for a meeting - which was allowed - and we had to have food in the middle, that was allowed.

If we decided to hold a gathering and celebrate a birthday, that was not allowed.

You can see the difference?

skodadoda · 12/04/2022 19:00

@Lottapianos

'I know he has got charisma for some peope, but that part of my brain must be missing because I just don't get it!:

Jesus, me too. I find him absolutely repulsive. A proven liar, a self-serving lazy incompetent waste of space. The buffoon act was always the thinnest of veneers and was never very funny anyway, but seriously, WHO is still laughing?! It's like a cult

Of course he should go, he should never have been near power in the first place. He will brazen it out though, I'm sure of it

100% agree with you.

You might as well give up with worriedatthistime.

No one is telling you what you should think.

You are being told facts and different opinions.

You can do with them what you will.

cakeorwine · 12/04/2022 19:02

But you should watch the video though.....

livinthedream1995 · 12/04/2022 19:02

I’m not a Tory voter, but honestly are any of the alternatives any better? We’re not going to see ourselves in any better of a position if he went, they’re all as bad as each other.

So no harm if he goes then...
worriedatthistime · 12/04/2022 19:06

@HarrietPierce7 what because i won't be told what i should think
I made it clear why I don't think he should go now , I am disgusted with the papers etc who had this infor and didn't leak it at the time and i just don't think with whats going on now its the right time for him to go , it may put us in a weaker position
I don't agree with what they did and I think many mps either didn't follow the guidance or pushed it to the extreme whilst many of us me included sat at home doing all we could
I can think this I am allowed and people can of course disagree but they canNt tell me what I should think or use personal insults
I know i will be voting next time round to try and make a difference

Ifeellikedancing · 12/04/2022 19:08

Get him out. I was a Tory voter but have not voted Tory since he has been prime minister. The man is an absolute buffoon.

Libertaire · 12/04/2022 19:08

In any other circumstances, a PM who had been fined for breaking the law and had lied to parliament about it would be out on his arse and packing his bags tonight.

But….

There is no way the Tories are going to knife a sitting PM while there is an actual war going on in Europe. However much fuss the media & opposition parties make it’s a complete non-starter. Johnson may be a lying bastard, but he is a bloody lucky one. Only he could have Putin step in and save his arse.

@HarrietPierce7" what because i won't be told what i should think"

Keir's beer is irrelevant.

Ifeellikedancing · 12/04/2022 19:09

I should add, he won't resign because he's a spineless rat.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/04/2022 19:09

I'm not a Tory voter. Johnson going would not force a general election. I just want someone to run the country who isn't a self serving, corrupt, racist, misogynist, liar.

Perhaps I expect too much.

worriedatthistime · 12/04/2022 19:10

@Libertaire I agree with you there

worriedatthistime · 12/04/2022 19:11

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats I think its like looking for a needle in a haystack finding a mp of any party that meets that criteria
Thats the issue

DuncinToffee · 12/04/2022 19:11

The Tory WhatsApp has gone out I see. Operation Save Big Dog is back on.

They did it when the Gulf war was on.

And do they want Johnson leading them into an election when this can be used against him?

worriedatthistime · 12/04/2022 19:13

@HarrietPierce7 you know i had great hopes for Starmer when he first took over but I wouldn't vote for him either
He has had so many opportunities where he really should of wiped the floor but he hasn't
