@purplecardigan it's tough to think of things that are Linked In with those, think about who you might 990 from a particular position.

DD chatting with grandparents and I stole a word from the conversation which took me to 457 on guess 3! Happy with today.

I solved Semantle #76 in 27 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 10.74. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #3. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 67.71 (998/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Thanks for the clues, finally got it in 243 guesses! I ended up going back down to a lower green which jumped me up to 991. That's seriously arsed up my average score 😂

Well after a few days of fierce independence with no looking at this thread till I’d solved it, I ended up having to scour this thread for everything even resembling a hint today! Without which I’d have been nowhere, my many many greens were so loosely related to the target word I’d never have made the link!

They are a bit misleading. The one from your list that I had in mine is 721, I'd work from there and think what someone might do in order to 721 (think very basic here) , then that might get you to 972 which is closer to the answer, that's how I got there anyway!

Bloody hell I wouldn’t have got it unless I had the 449 clue

I didn’t have 449 but looked at what I had either side and got it!

Today’s took so long that I ended up involving my entire family - we sat around the table after dinner with DD inputting guesses in to my phone from DB, DSIL, nieces and my DCs. We all literally leapt from our seats and cheered when DSIL got the answer
