Better than yesterday but I got stuck for ages in the mid 900s at 4am this morning which used a lot of guesses.

I did NOT start with 984 and 100 guesses in still don't have 984 but I do have 985 and 982. Are these along the right lines?

After my worst ever yesterday, when I only got it thanks to two lovely posters sending clues by pm, I found today much more enjoyable.

938! But that has now lead me to 997, 999 and the start word used by many of 984. Still not quite got it though... going to read back over the clues already given for the 990s.
