No big surprises on the ones that voted against, all well known for their upstanding human rights records. Disappointing about China though.

Only the second time this has happened

Libya, in 2011.

China was against.

Yes disappointed that China voted against. Even India and Pakistan managed to abstain.

I am surprised UAE only abstained to be honest. Sheikh Meerkat is partial to a bit of kidnapping and abduction.

If you're in Africa, you get much of your grain from Ukraine. It's already anticipated that supplies will be way down. Those countries might have the choice of getting food from Russia, or their population starving.

In that context, abstaining is really brave.
