What really disappoints you???

Light hearted thread....

What really disappoints me is having a beautiful watermelon sitting waiting to be eaten only to finally cut it open and it's tastes of nothing! No juice/no flavour, and it was definitely ripe, been sat ripening for a week.

@WonderingWanda

When you are really enjoying a nice cup of tea, you go to take another mouthful and realise you already finished it. If you go and make another one it will never be as nice!
Ooooo yes! Or the last mouthful is full of tea leaves Angry
MintyGreenDream · 02/04/2022 21:45

Chinese takeaways.

@TheMoreYouKnow

Seeing my friends new dog after 2years as it was new to her them and looking forward to making a big fuss of it. What happened? It came to the front door looked at me and walked off. Apparently its only interested in other dogs. Confused
If this is a dog they got in lockdown then it may not have had as much interaction with people. Lockdowns meant no/fewer visitors, things being delivered at distance and I’d guess less stopping to chat with other dog walkers. The dog will presumably have mixed more with other dogs.

Maybe things will improve.

@Cutemob

The fact that the world isn't anywhere near as feminist as I was brought up to believe. Not lighthearted at all, sorry!
🙌 feel you 🤛🏽

@ilovesooty

The electorate.

Sorry - not lighthearted.

When you go to take another handful of crisps and the packet is empty and you weren't emotionally ready for it to be over

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/04/2022 04:20

Local cats who disappear under cars and stare at me balefully and who are not enticed by my pss pss pssing. I adore cats, and they are missing out on a lot of head scritchies. A lot.

Have to agree with the person who said this season of Peaky Blinders as the rest have been great, really miss Polly also. Not had much of Tom Hardy either as his character Alfie is brilliant and the rapport between him and Tommy and their dialogue amazing. But sick of Tommy now and all the new characters and not great writing this season at all.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 03/04/2022 06:38

@LadyOfTheCanyon omg me too!!

Especially my next door neighbours huge black and white cat. He looks like he wants head scritches so much and he would get ALL the scritches if he didn't belt it Everytime I so much as look in his direction.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 03/04/2022 06:39

When you get 2 biscuits out to have with your coffee and forget you have eaten the second biscuit 😢

MintJulia · 03/04/2022 06:39

Cooking a new recipe, taking care to make it taste fabulous, and have ds pick it apart and say he isn't hungry Sad

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 03/04/2022 06:41

Omg @MintJulia that's so frustrating!!

Everytime I read another comment I remember another disappointment 😂

Following a new recipe with expensive ingredients for the first time and it turns out to be awful (slimming world beef stroganoff - beef yoghurt anyone??)

@TroysMammy

Tried to make sourdough bread. Followed instructions to the t, it took days, and it tasted like lead bread. It looked like a dehydrated turtle and could be used as a weapon or door stop.
Grinsounds like pretty much anything I try to bake…

Weight loss. It piles on fast enough!!! But comes off ridiculously slowly.

alittlefickle · 03/04/2022 12:21

Can we just take a second and acknowledge the horrendous disappointment in getting your fave biscuit to dunk in that long awaited cuppa, only to have it fall into aforementioned cuppa.

Same, but peaches. Like cotton wool inside.
