If you're lucky enough not to know what I'm on about Semantle is a word game like Wordle. You need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics, not letters. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

Just got it in 78 guesses, having never played before. I think I’ve found myself a new addiction

I solved Semantle #61 in 78 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 24.70. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #76. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 55.20 (976/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Annoyed with myself. I had a green with the same root word 45 guesses before I actually solved it and didn't try the word which was the target word. Ho hum!

I had 17 greens, before the obvious occurred.

Hi! I've got over 50 guesses with no greens! Can I get a hint please.

@AllTheYoungGoodyTwoShoes plenty of hints through the thread. 50 guesses is nothing, yesterday I took almost 200 to get a green. Keep going.

Got it in 108 but only thanks to your clue, I was drowning in synonyms until then.

To be honest the US is not the first thing I think of in connection with the word of the day! That may be a bit of a red herring for a lot of people.

It's a hook into the greens though, without being a spoiler this early on. Some people don't start playing until the evening and I don't want to give the game away too easily.

Well we all think differently as can be seen here daily.
