Since weve almost managed to fill our 6th thread I thought I should start the next so we have somewhere to sc

If you're lucky enough not to know what I'm on about Semantle is a word game like Wordle. You need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics, not letters. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

If you want to join in the fun followthis linkand prepare to lose your sanity.

If you want to see how we've been getting on up to now our previous thread ishere. We tend to use the threads to rant about how we're getting nowhere, celebrate our successes and laugh about the previous day's top 1000 but please, no spoilers. Subtle hints only here; use DMs for more obvious clues.

You will definitely know the word. Having looked at some of your numbers you're missing a more obvious one.

@semantlename look at 970. Think in terms of a different part of speech, and a US context. Then a word which is the flip side of the coin.

Genuinely thought I wrote that about 100 goes ago! I wrote 970 AFTER writing the target word, I thought.

What a waste of an hour or two thinking I'd done it 🤦‍♀️

I solved Semantle #61 in 125 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 1.98. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #56. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 18.12. semantle.novalis.org/

I solved Semantle #61 in 150 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 12.65. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #97. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 54.37 (970/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Well now I’m addicted to something new! So hard but ultimately satisfying!

@SouperNoodle a 800 is a certain type of something. A completely different type of this something would be much more target word.
