it was 17 miles when i read last night, and today 40 miles, sounds just awful,

And according to a news report I have just heard, in south Belarus air support has increased overnight.

This is not a war between Ukraine and Russia, it's a war for global power between USA and Russia as it has been since the end of WW2.

As usual is the normal people who are suffering in a chess game between the 2 superpowers. We've seen this before played out in Vietnam, Cuba, Chile (Latinmerica as a whole), Africa, the Middle East (Afghanistan, Libya, Syria).....Ukraine is just the latest move in the game.

This is true. Its a long term disaster for Russia, as well as Ukraine. There must be some people close to Putin who can see that.

This is not a war between Ukraine and Russia, it's a war for global power between USA and Russia as it has been since the end of WW2.

I don't see how that's true at all - this is about a country choosing its own path, and a big neighbouring country (or more specifically its leader) believing that country doesn't have that right and shouldn't even exist.
