The sanctions announced on Monday were weak. There is a lot more he can do but are his hands tied because of the continuing and substantial Russian donations to the Tory Party.

He is addressing the Commons at 5 according to BBC so I can't imagine it will be before then, maybe 6 or 7?

We’ve passed the point where sanctions will work, they should’ve gone hard when they started bombing Georgia in 2007, or even annexing Crimea in 2014. Instead we allowed Putin and his gang to donate to the Tory party and push the Brexit agenda - weakened uk, weakened Europe…

Exactly, what can we do? If we intervene then Russia will target us as well, but if we do nothing then do many innocent people are going to die and who knows what Putin will do next? Do Russian citizens admire Putin or are they equally as aghast as we are?

It's a very worrying time, and all the more so because of our current leadership. I have no confidence in the current government's ability to make sound decisions in the interest of the nation.

The Tory party is too compromised to do anything effective. And I agree that for Johnson it's a convenient dead cat to bluster over.

Putin wants to put the former Soviet Bloc back together. This is his ultimate aim.
