What did we see last night..?

We had been away for a few nights and travelled back quite late. Towards the end of our journey, this was about 2am, we were driving along an A road in a rural area when something crossed the road in front of us in full headlights for about 3 seconds. It was about the height of a person, maybe 6 feet or over, but had short powerful legs and hips which seemed to move in a circular fluid fashion. It was not a deer because it stood on two legs. This was in the midlands and the area is traditional rolling fields and woodland. In this particular spot there are no houses or buildings, nearest is over a mile away. We drove back today as its only 7 miles from home to look at the road layout and whatever it was moved into a wide bowl shaped field dropping down to a stream. Any ideas?

@Blinkingbatshit

Something escaped from Giffords?!!….. If not I do think wallaby meets your initial description…. Emu/ostrich also possible in the area….
How is a wallaby 6 foot tall?!
Gardeningtipsneeded · 20/02/2022 23:16

Kangaroos can be enormous, one went for me in a campsite once and it was taller than me and I am 5’8.

Could have been a lanky teenager stumbling /cycling home across fields ?, the way some of them wear trousers makes their legs look stumpy especially if with a puffy jacket

Drunk guy on a Segway?

RedToothBrush · 20/02/2022 23:22

Alien. Definitely an alien.

The invasion has started.

Hence the nutty weather, which is a weapon to weaken our resources.

Geezabreak82 · 20/02/2022 23:23

OP has gone to bed without posting a drawing or telling us what her hosts told her Shock

RedToothBrush · 20/02/2022 23:24

Either or its the Zombie Apocalyse.

Which is fine. We have an axe and a zombie apocalyse box.

sashh · 20/02/2022 23:24

@GallopingHighRoad

Not a kangaroo, goatman, slenderman, sasquatch. These things don't exist.

Colour - dark brown, but always hard to tell in full beam.

On A425 after Staverton travelling West. Road drops down a hill then rises back up again before the lay by spot.
Coincidentally @Wonnle the next village on the road is called Shuck-burgh.

Kangaroos do exist and they can be 6ft.

I’ve seen something like this before, but never worked out what it was. It remains a mystery sadly

naramtun · 20/02/2022 23:25

it will have been a deer.

As a country dweller I have given up describing things I’ve seen. People always say aliens or assume I was drinking.

@GallopingHighRoad

We are off out now for supper but when we get back I will post a picture. It will be badly drawn and I offer no apologies for that. Just to be clear again and again, it is definitely not a wallaby or a kangaroo. The thin bear / mangy deer fits best but at over 6ft it is going to be a big one and on hind legs. The impression that is strongest for me is the goat-head, but DP does not remember that.
Some deer easily over 6 feet when standing on hind legs.
