Spotted our first bit of damage. Kids away from home are okay. Pretty windy.

SunflowerSmith · 18/02/2022 10:49

Windy in Staffordshire but not overly so.

The BBC said this morning that it'll be across us around lunch/ early pm then the South East by late pm.

We also have a local weather guy who is pretty accurate and he said the low pressure system didn't develop as much as predicted and our winds will be more like 50 than 70mph.

WaterBottle123 · 18/02/2022 11:02

Dorset coast. Windy but not scary so.

Leicestershire.

Wind has really picked up now and rain is starting to pour.

Ohbuggeritsme · 18/02/2022 11:14

South Wales - had a few good gusts of wind, but nothing dramatic as yet.
Fence is wobbling more than me after a night out on the Prosecco!

Household is currently taking bets on how long it lasts......I hope I win!

Callcat · 18/02/2022 11:17

Gower coast / swansea. Pretty wild! But not too extreme.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 18/02/2022 11:20

Very windy here now.....house has been shaking but we're in a built up area so plenty of wind breaks....could do without roof damage though.....

boatgirl81 · 18/02/2022 11:55

West Midlands, just seen some tiles fly past my lounge window so looks like some roof damage for us.

Chishnfips · 18/02/2022 11:59

Lovely lilac tree has snapped. thankfully no damage to the fence but still. :(

Milomonster · 18/02/2022 12:00

C London - wind has picked up but nothing dramatic.

wendz86 · 18/02/2022 12:01

My parents wall in front garden has come down in Hampshire . Last time it fell was 1987.

Startuplife · 18/02/2022 12:04

South London here and the wind has just lifted up our BBQ and gas bottle! The fence is looking pretty wobbly too, the wind is pushing it to a 45 degree angle at times. I’ve no idea what to do if we lose it completely.

ABitBesottedWithMyDog · 18/02/2022 12:16

I’ve no idea what to do if we lose it completely.

we've lost ours two winters running.

It is getting a little breezy here now too.

MrsDThomas · 18/02/2022 12:19

Wind has picked up. Nothing blown over. Wifi and electric on.

Relax!

DedalusBloom · 18/02/2022 12:20

South London- the neighbour at the back's concrete ridge tiles have come off one half of his roof and 9 or so smashed down into our back garden, taking half my fence with it. Narrowly missed our back window. I'm now nervously watching the other half of his roof ( which they only had put on last year) Sad

Tigersonvaseline · 18/02/2022 12:33

Fuck I'm scared.

Don't even think it's hit us properly yet?

When is it due to properly hit London

ukborn · 18/02/2022 12:35

SW London and not too bad - windy of course but walked dogs and only saw a few twigs have come down. The lids on my bins keep flying open so may have to turn them around and my neighbours cover for his motorcycle is flapping like mad. Sun is out intermittently.

crossstitchingnana · 18/02/2022 12:42

My house is shaking, next door's fence is down and all transport is off. Record wind speeds just recorded. Isle of Wight.

SpikeDearheart · 18/02/2022 13:15

We've lost two fence panels, fingers crossed the rest of them stay up. Various recycling boxes and other debris clattering down the road periodically. Despite the wind we are back to blue skies and sunshine now, it feels very odd!

Tangletester · 18/02/2022 13:20

Feels like the house is shaking at times. We have propped our long fence up with bits of 4 by 2, wedged the ends into the lawn and then against the fence. I’m pretty sure we wound have lost it if we hadn’t.

SpikeDearheart · 18/02/2022 13:23

Hearing lots of sirens as well from the main road - reminiscent of the first lockdown - hoping no-one is seriously hurt.

MsJuniper · 18/02/2022 13:32

North London new build estate here, a couple of chimneys down on our road. Quite scared although ours is a different construction apparently. The wind mostly doesn't seem that bad but then suddenly whips up.

AnneElliott · 18/02/2022 13:38

South London/Kent borders - a couple of trees down locally and wind seems to be getting stronger.

Trampoline has been pinned down.

Curiositycats · 18/02/2022 13:39

West wales coast- feels like a hurricane, can’t stand up in the full force of the wind. roof spikes, slates and glass from greenhouses flying about - it’s not safe to be out!

Tonsellectomjy · 18/02/2022 13:45

Seems to have calmed in Bristol.
