Ok so literally in the past 5 mins it's ramped up.

illyawasthebest · 18/02/2022 05:45

Nothing here in West Midlands yet.

Hope you're all doing okay.

WanderingFruitWonderer · 18/02/2022 05:48

I'm in St Leonard's-on-Sea in East Sussex. It sounds pretty windy, but nothing hugely out of ordinary yet. I live right opposite the sea, so it's often windy here anyway. I reckon Eunice will land here in a bigger way later. I think she's planned to visit the west country and South Wales first. Also in a bigger way. We've just got an amber warning here, whereas it's a red warning in those regions. Stay safe OP! This time that sentence doesn't relate to Covid, thankfully!

I woke up to find my back fencing , 3 panels, snapped and face down In the garden. God knows what time that happened as it looks windy out there but not too bad.

Today is going to be fun!

Mabelface · 18/02/2022 05:53

North Derbyshire here. Very rainy and the wind is picking up. Most of the trains are cancelled so working from home. Bonus. 😅

marmalade32 · 18/02/2022 05:54

Manchester. Nothing yet. Forecast 60 later I think.

Carbiesdreamhouse · 18/02/2022 05:54

@SkepticalCat

Woke up about 45 minutes ago to blustery winds interspersed with calm. Kent coast.

South East now has red weather warning in place.

Same. I'm east coast. Typical, as my toddler is actually sleeping past 5am, of course this would be the day I sit here awake while he snores!
PopsicleHustler · 18/02/2022 05:57

Good idea for a thread, regarding to what area you are in.

Surrey here, and its blowy and rainy. Was quite a howler at around half four to 5am and not seems to have slowed down a bit.
Our schools haven't announced a closure, so I am still debating whether or not to send them in. It's a mile walk each way to the juniors and the infants so I dont know if I really fancy it with 5 kids in tow, plus a baby in a pram and trying to hold a raincover down and holding onto a toddler also.

Anyone had their schools close??

PopsicleHustler · 18/02/2022 06:00

We are also in the Red warning, so that's why I am really reluctant.

WanderingFruitWonderer · 18/02/2022 06:02

Funnily enough, it seems to have just suddenly strengthened here too!
Volterra · 18/02/2022 06:02

Dorset schools are all shut I think.

AlphaAlpha · 18/02/2022 06:05

Woken up to a red warning for London/SE - no way I'm travelling 40 miles for my mandatory training day today! Fully expect an email from the school too - going to be a long day!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 18/02/2022 06:05

Derbyshire here. Raining but no wind yet. Don't think it's reached us yet. Looking at the forecast it's supposed to be worst around midday. I have to go out to work and do the school run.

WanderingFruitWonderer · 18/02/2022 06:06

@SkepticalCat oh, I didn't realise we (South East) were red warning? I thought just amber? Eek! But, thank you for warning me.

Not so far here in Derbyshire. Mine will be going in as I've got to go to work. We tend to escape most of the extreme weather here though so I'm hoping it won't be as bad as they say.
WispaBurgerbites · 18/02/2022 06:08

@ToMockAKillingBird

Cheshire here, heavy rain but not that windy. Think it's meant to be bad from about 8am, just in time for the school run!
Have they not closed the schools? I'm in Flintshire and all of the schools have been closed. Although my DC was a training day for half term anyway.
Motnight · 18/02/2022 06:09

South London here. Rainy and windy. But not yet unusually so.

lololololollll · 18/02/2022 06:09

Should i be worried. I wasn't then read this and thought maybe I'm being naive. In London. Would you open a cafe this morning if you had one? Not sure there's any point if everyone hiding at home

GreenFingeredNell15 · 18/02/2022 06:09

It's so scary

Thewiseoneincognito · 18/02/2022 06:10

Beachfront property in Cornwall. Tide is in. Strangely there’s not much cloud either as I can see stars?

autienotnaughty · 18/02/2022 06:10

All quiet in South Yorkshire

MrsTimRiggins · 18/02/2022 06:11

I’m on the coast, north Devon, literally on the cliffs with one field between us and the sea, so essentially the ‘danger zone’. It’s windy but honestly it doesn’t sound too bad out, certainly not sounding any worse than the weather that is quite common for living where we do.
That being said, I’ll probably go out and there’ll be a whole barn down…

TheUsualChaos · 18/02/2022 06:12

Just woken up. The wind is gusting now and we are still forecast to hit 90mph. Our school is open afaik despite schools closing much further away where it's amber level not red. I've got to get to work soon 😩

Ohbuggeritsme · 18/02/2022 06:13

South Wales - its very windy and howling, but nothing too horrendous....yet! X

RiderGirl · 18/02/2022 06:14

10 miles from the North Devon coast here and we are on the top of a hill, can see out to the sea so exposed. Starting to sound very blustery indeed but on and off. I need to leave for work in an hour (NHS) and not looking forward to it! DH and DD staying at home today.
