Wyre Coast Lancs, the wind & lots of rain has just arrived.

MakeMineAdoubleChocolate · 18/02/2022 07:05

What Lovely street @amatsip

FurryGrowler · 18/02/2022 07:07

@imamumgetmeoutofhere

Jurassic coast here. Can hear the wind outside but nothing more (yet) than your average windy day. I expect that will change

What a lovely place to live. Would love to
move there one day.

Fylde coast. Very windy outside now. I'm in bed and it sounds loud.

Hippywannabe · 18/02/2022 07:08

Plymouth, wind has started to pick up. Just had text to say school is open.

CaveMum · 18/02/2022 07:08

Cambs/Suffolk border here, just north of the new red warning area. A bit blustery here but nothing untoward so far. The red warning in this part of the country doesn’t kick in till 10am so we’ll see what happens.

For those that missed it...Here's the ''Windy'' app...

Gloucestershire, has calmed down a little, so let cats out. DH just left for work, so hopefully he gets there ok.

SpikeDearheart · 18/02/2022 07:10

Gusty wind and rain here in Bristol but nothing abnormally wild yet...

CaveMum · 18/02/2022 07:10

Just checked, BBC is saying 80mph gusts here but Met Office saying 63mph. Who knows!

theDudesmummy · 18/02/2022 07:10

In the west of Ireland. Heard the wind and lashing rain in the night, but its still dark here so can't see if any damage. Schools in nine counties are closed but not here in Galway, and no email either so guess its school as normal. We live in a sheep farming area and I found myself feeling sorry for the sheep in the night.

cafenoirbiscuit · 18/02/2022 07:12

North Hampshire here and all is calm so far. DS’s school is closed - which I’ve never known as it’s also a boarding school - but the school I’m working in today hasn’t announced closure.

Good luck everyone

Allelbowsandtoes · 18/02/2022 07:12

Bristol here, not been out yet, it looks windy but not horrendous.
From my initial investigations aka looking through the window, doesn't seem to be any damage on our street

CormoranStrike · 18/02/2022 07:12

Edinburgh here - currently v windy and wet and we’re told snow is coming

ViceLikeBlip · 18/02/2022 07:14

I'm in Devon, and there's not a breath of wind here. I'm starting to think I've fallen into a parallel universe!

TangoWhiskyAlphaTango · 18/02/2022 07:15

Shropshire here and not too bad, windy on and off hoping the River Severn doesnt flood as it was already up yesterday . Travelling up to Liverpool today to take DD to an open day at the Uni tomorrow so hoping it dies down later.

DedalusBloom · 18/02/2022 07:16

South London here - windy and rainy but bins are all still standing so far which is my normal measure of how bad the wind is - just seen some poor bloke being blown up the road with his coat flapping about madly at waist level like a demented tutu. DH and I both working from home today so we're battening down the hatches and not moving.

FleeceNavidadFromTheSheep · 18/02/2022 07:18

Swansea uni cancelled tomorrow's open day. DD has been trying to cancel her train ticket.

Fairly calm in the New Forest at the moment...but we're in the red warning zone from 10am. Some very big trees close to the house so 🤞

Shaambaalaa · 18/02/2022 07:19

@ViceLikeBlip

Yeah same here - face directly onto the NDevon coast and erm….seems pretty average day to me?!!

Darbs76 · 18/02/2022 07:19

Surrey here. In the last half hour the winds picking up. Just went in the garden with the dog to make sure he did a wee now as it’s going to get bad soon. I’ve moved the bins to round the back gate and all garden chairs and anything moveable are in the garage.

ChocolateMassacre · 18/02/2022 07:20

London. It's blustery and windy but not too bad so far. I hope people have secured their wheelie bins as it was like a wheelie bin derby in the last big storm, with wheelie bins being blown up and down the street.

Had booked soft play for DS to wear him out but may need to rethink now the advice is not to leave your house.

ClaudineClare · 18/02/2022 07:22

Wind has eased a bit here in my part of Wales. Has Eunice decided to pass us by?

WhateverHappenedToFayWray · 18/02/2022 07:22

Seems calm at the moment. I'm in North London

Wineisrequired · 18/02/2022 07:26

Wiltshire it’s windy but nowhere near as bad as I expected

WanderingFruitWonderer · 18/02/2022 07:28

Thanks @ChoiceMummy yes I think it must have changed recently. I've been a bit confused about it, as different sources say different things! Anyway, I'm metres from the shore, so I'll soon know about it, if Eunice chooses to do her worst!
