No wind or rain here (cat has just come in through his flap and jumped on the bed and isn't wet, he's my weather vane 😺). Liverpool, near the river so expecting more. Its also always v windy where I work in the city centre so expecting problems there ...

North east London waking up to the news we’re in a red warning area later today feels a bit odd! It was incredibly calm last night, this morning is a little bit blustery but nothing dramatic.

I have bouncy dogs that really need at least a quick run around the park even if it’s raining, and the plan was to do some painting today but I need to drive 20mins to pick up the paint I ordered 🤦🏻‍♀️ Red warning isn’t until 10 though so if I’m efficient as soon as the sun is up hopefully can get those things done and home for 10 and paint through the storm!!!

Also have a wailing cat indignant at being kept in. He’ll just have to cope!

BBC news already having the obligatory reporters standing out in bad weather going “yes, studio, it’s windy here!. Tradition innit!

Oxfordshire. Gusty noisy wind and uncomfortably warm. Off to work in the bus, usually a double decker - hope it's running.

I'm near Bath. Sounds a bit windy out but I'm quite sheltered here and tucked away. Schools are closed and Ex DP wants to drop the kids here before he goes to work but I don't want them travelling in a car on a duel carriageway and windy country lanes if it can be helped this morning. He could easily work from home but just doesn't want to deal with them. I'm also worried about how my new solar panels will fare!

Sharing this as I had to search to find it even though I use the met office weather app it wasn’t obvious

Peanut82 · 18/02/2022 06:48

West Yorkshire here. It's raining but not too windy at the moment. Schools are all open, hopefully we'll escape the worst of it

GeneLovesJezebel · 18/02/2022 06:49

North West - nothing here yet. Trees are still.

ItsAlwaysThere · 18/02/2022 06:50

East Anglia, on red alert but currently calm and nice. I know that will change.

Ttcfinalbub · 18/02/2022 06:50

Buckinghamshire area rainy and a lil breezy so far but nothing storm like !

wonderstuff · 18/02/2022 06:52

North Hampshire, schools have now been closed, due to red warning. Sounds a bit blowy, but red comes into effect at 10 so not quite reaching us yet.

Porridgeislife · 18/02/2022 06:52

Bucks, fairly windy but nothing out of the ordinary. I’ve got a hair appointment at lunch time so I think I’ll still brave the M40.

Also very stupid - people see reporters and think if they're okay, I'll be okay going out too.

@WanderingFruitWonderer

I'm in St Leonard's-on-Sea in East Sussex. It sounds pretty windy, but nothing hugely out of ordinary yet. I live right opposite the sea, so it's often windy here anyway. I reckon Eunice will land here in a bigger way later. I think she's planned to visit the west country and South Wales first. Also in a bigger way. We've just got an amber warning here, whereas it's a red warning in those regions. Stay safe OP! This time that sentence doesn't relate to Covid, thankfully!
St Leonard's has a red warning now from 10am
amatsip · 18/02/2022 06:55

Durham - woke up to snow, chilly but touchwood not too windy yet.

Storm Eunice
BulletTrain · 18/02/2022 06:55

Wiltshire Somerset border - nothing happening. Only awake because our 3 year old is!

Rivermonsters · 18/02/2022 06:56

In the NWest, about to leave for college in 15 minutes so wish me luck Sad would’ve loved a day off

imamumgetmeoutofhere · 18/02/2022 06:56

Jurassic coast here. Can hear the wind outside but nothing more (yet) than your average windy day. I expect that will change

hesbeen2021 · 18/02/2022 06:58

Kent here, there's a bit of a wind but no storm as yet

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 18/02/2022 06:58

We're supposed to fly from manchester tonight. We drove up yesterday night and got a hotel because of all the warnings. Cant hear anything more than a few cars going by.

Desiredeffect · 18/02/2022 07:00

That's a good idea about using this thread as a live update rolling thread. I'll ask them to change title

Worcestershire- can hear the wind but not too bad yet

RampantIvy · 18/02/2022 07:03

South Yorkshire. Just raining here, and a yellow warning for wind.

missfliss · 18/02/2022 07:04

Shoreham by sea ( West Sussex) upgraded to red now.
Schools all shut ( announced this am) and I'm really worried about the massive new trampoline we bought our son in the back garden !!!! Have anchored and strapped it - hope that's enough
