Wiltshire here, woke up to wind in the early hours but quietened down and sounds pretty calm out there at the moment.

Ifailed · 18/02/2022 06:15

middle of Kent, it's raining - that's about it.

WingBingo · 18/02/2022 06:15

I’m in Devon, just outside the red zone.

Clear skies but the wind has picked up in the last few minutes.

This is interesting

South coast here, very windy and rainy. We are now in the red warning zone from 10-3 today so a bit worried.

Cat wants to go out and keeps whining by the locked cat flap and I am off to work soon. Thankfully will be at work during worst bit and we will all just hunker down together.

Daft cat hates wind and rain and would probably be back within 2 minutes if I let her out but I am not risking it so DH will have a miserable cat to deal with all day🤣

TheUsualChaos · 18/02/2022 06:17

@PopsicleHustler I wouldn't walk that far with a pram this morning. Where I am it's forecast to be at its peak at 90mph bang on school run but DH can drive them round. You could tell school you'll bring them in later when it's safer to walk.

Lovemydoggie · 18/02/2022 06:18

Wet and wind now picking up here in Kent !

illyawasthebest · 18/02/2022 06:18

You can look up your area on this website and look at the times it's due to get bad near you: https://www.windy.com/

Svara · 18/02/2022 06:20

@Desiredeffect

Very windy and rainy here. I expect to see a few fences down in the morning. Have heard recycle boxes being blown down the road.
All our bin collections have been cancelled for tomorrow, I'm surprised yours haven't
Svara · 18/02/2022 06:20

Today I mean!

PattesDuRhino · 18/02/2022 06:20

Lincolnshire here - the Wolds - and its totally silent out there at the moment. Not sure if it's raining!

WanderingFruitWonderer · 18/02/2022 06:26

Thanks @illyawasthebest perfect. According to that, the specific area I'm in is still just amber all day. But other news sources say the southeast is red! Confusing. Ah well, time will tell, and it'll do what it'll do 🤷‍♀️ I'm always strangely philosophical about the weather, no matter what!

Looubylou · 18/02/2022 06:29

North East - just raining. No chance of promised snow I"d say.

Ecosralayce · 18/02/2022 06:30

south yorks here. raining faily heavily but not really windy. Schools etc all still open. Im off to work in a bit. I think we will escape the worst of it here thankfully. Thinking of those in the red zone.

wingingmywaythroughlife · 18/02/2022 06:35

South Lanarkshire here, wind and some snow so far...

oakleaffy · 18/02/2022 06:36

Just going to let puppy out ..and go into garden myself..

Ok, back in, very windy out, but nothing 'Untoward' yet...However, Puppy whined, and rushed back in...Unusual for her.

oakleaffy · 18/02/2022 06:38

Edit: Bristol channel area, S.W England.

AlternativePerspective · 18/02/2022 06:39

I’m Bromley area, and it’s windy but no worse than I’ve heard before, yet.

LadyNell · 18/02/2022 06:39

Kent here nothing much happening, been raining all night, bit of wind that's all

Workinghardeveryday · 18/02/2022 06:39

Raining but very still here, must have snowed a bit in the night

devildeepbluesea · 18/02/2022 06:40

South Wales. DD’s school is closed.

Nothing woke me through the night and so far, I’ve definitely heard worse. Need to walk the dog before it properly hits. He refuses to pee in the garden 😩

LakieLady · 18/02/2022 06:40

Very wet and windy in Sussex but nothing major as yet. Fences, trees etc all in place and my bin is still where it normally is. I've got a big wooden pallet in my drive, waiting to go to the tip, and it's now lying down, but that's to be expected. Nothing significant on local traffic news, either.

I think it's going to be at its worst here later in the morning though, so that could change. I have a friend staying, she is supposed to be driving up to London then down to Plymouth today. I wouldn't be going, but she seems determined!

I had new windows put in a year ago, and I'm really impressed with how well they cut down the noise. I wouldn't have got much sleep if I still had the old single glazed windows, but I barely heard a thing.

MotherOfChaos28 · 18/02/2022 06:42

@Looubylou

North East - just raining. No chance of promised snow I"d say.
I’m also in the North East and we’ve got an awful lot of snow. The main road outside our house has vanished.
ABitBesottedWithMyDog · 18/02/2022 06:42

I live in the effete and decadent south. Just rainy. The wind isn't a patch on Dudley a few days ago (touchwood).

ClaudineClare · 18/02/2022 06:43

Getting pretty windy here in South Wales.

2DogsOnMySofa · 18/02/2022 06:43

North Northampton here, a bit windy and rainy
