Kurt Zouma / TW Animal cruelty

Apologies, couldn’t see a thread about this.

Just seen the most horrendous video of a West Ham footballer drop kicking his cat Shock across the room, then throwing things at it, then slapping it out of someone’s arms.

(Link to video mobile.twitter.com/emilyhewertson/status/1490811894197886981?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet)

It’s being published by the sun, but what I don’t understand is, why when (quite rightly) the lady who slapped the horse was sacked, all West Ham have said was that they “have spoken to him and will deal with internally”.

This is horrendous! The poor cat

Whose is the toddler shown in the video? If you're so needlessly cruel to a defenceless animal, how can you be trusted with little children?

IncompleteSenten · 08/02/2022 12:48

@Nandakanda

Although he treated the cat appallingly, I suspect he's originally from a culture in which pets are regarded as....animals?
Which culture approves of drop kicking a pet cat? I'm not aware of any. He's french I believe and I'm fairly sure it's not part of French culture to grab your cat and kick them across a room, throw things at them and slap them on the head while they are being held by a child.

Maybe I'm wrong though.

IncompleteSenten · 08/02/2022 12:52

You just know that West ham's 'dealing with it' will be "don't let your friends video you torturing animals in future" it's bad for the club's reputation.

Kick the cat in private.

🤬

WaltzingToWalsingham · 08/02/2022 12:54

Zouma has tried to excuse his actions by claiming that he kicked his cat in a flash of temper because it had knocked over a vase or something, but the fact that his brother just happened to be filming it all makes it seem quite premeditated. And then the brother puts it on Snapchat! I think it's dreadful that they're using his mistreatment of his pet as entertainment, particularly since Zouma is somebody that people look up to and will try to mimic. I hope he learns from this.

IncompleteSenten · 08/02/2022 12:59

Oh he is full of shit.
Anyone who falls for that bollocks is as thick as pigshit.

IncompleteSenten · 08/02/2022 12:59

The only thing that creature will learn is don't let it be filmed.

TheOnlyMrsMac · 08/02/2022 13:33

Let's do a comparison, shall we?

Kurt Zouma: About 1.9m tall and 85kg - that's about 6ft 2/3" tall and 187lbs.

Cat: About 20-25cm tall and 5-7kg - that's about 8-10" tall and 6-15lbs.

He's nearly 30 and a husband and father. You'd think he would have developed a sense of maturity and responsibility by now, not to mention an understanding of the needs of smaller, vulnerable beings like children and pets.

He's just a big, cruel bully. Personally, I'd like to even things up a bit and put Zouma and his brother in a room with a lion or tiger. They wouldn't be kicking, hitting, filming or laughing at the pussy cat then, would they?

I'd like to see action from the police, the RSPCA, West Ham and his sponsors, not just empty words. I don't believe his apology for one minute. He's just sorry he and his brother have been caught.

I hope he's dropped very publicly by SEED, the French big cat charity he acts as an ambassador for.

Cruelty to animals is bad enough on its own but is also often a precursor to cruelty to humans. A child was in the room while all this was going on and had the cat hit out of their arms. Perhaps he needs a safeguarding visit and investigation too.

LoseLooseLucy · 08/02/2022 13:34

I really hope his brother has fucked up his career for him by sharing it for the laughs 🤷🏼‍♀️

Youngatheart00 · 08/02/2022 13:36

I can’t watch the videos, I find animal cruelty horribly upsetting.

What a vile man. Can anyone confirm that cat has been taken away from him?

TheOnlyMrsMac · 08/02/2022 13:38

As with Mason Greenwood, social media has its uses for exposing the behaviour behind the image.

TimePoliceTeam236 · 08/02/2022 13:40

He’s an ambassador for a big cat charity? Oh my god, he’s thicker that I thought.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 08/02/2022 13:41

@Nandakanda

He is French. He was born in France, and I'm pretty sure their views on pets don't much differ from ours.

What makes you think he is 'originally' from a culture that has significantly different opinions about pets?

I want to know this too, those cats can't just be left there!

And how TF is he an ambassador for an animal charity?!

StrawberryPot · 08/02/2022 13:45

I know lots of people are critical of the RSPCA, but I've always given them the benefit of the doubt and make a small monthly donation.

However, if they don't prosecute on this occasion when evidence is presented to them on a plate, then I really will despair.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 08/02/2022 13:58

It's so upsetting
In his statement he has the audacity to say the cat is a cherished member of his family
The cat should be rehomed, as the poor thing will be traumatised.
He should be sacked and banned from keeping animals... doubt he will though

theneverendinglaundry · 08/02/2022 14:05

@Schmoozer

RSPCA on twitter are saying they are looking into it but cannot comment ….

Animals get treated like This in the meat industry so no point belly aching about this poor cat ??
What’s your point ????
Animal abuse should be called out in any setting / industry etc

I agree that ALL animal cruelty is a disgrace. That's why I don't eat meat, because if I ate chicken from a factory farm I would feel like I was being just as bad as him.

So no I'm not saying this is okay, it's far from it. He needs consequences for his actions.

zlister · 08/02/2022 14:06

@poorbuthappy

Apparently a child participated. I don't know because I can't watch the full video. Also a cat is tiny compared to a horse. Horse woman is FOUL but this is awful also (as I say, child joining in plus man abusing a tiny animal)

caranations · 08/02/2022 14:07

@LaurieFairyCake

I want the cats rehomed

I want him fired

I want the fans to turn their backs on him and boo him

I don't just want him fired. I want him prosecuted and I want him deported back to France, and banned from ever setting foot on British soil ever again.

Cunt.

RoseslnTheHospital · 08/02/2022 14:08

There are (sadly) many examples of other men doing very similar to cats/other animals on video and posting it online, who have been investigated and prosecuted and the animals removed. The difference being that they were not premier league footballers.

Your job function, personal status and wealth should not alter whether or not you are investigated and prosecuted for animal cruelty, or any other crime. Obviously.

louderthan · 08/02/2022 14:10

I really, really hope the cats are taken away and he is not allowed to keep any animals ever again.

poorbuthappy · 08/02/2022 14:26

Just for clarity - my point is that he should be subjected to the same treatment as the horse woman.

Not actually what is the difference....

Lockheart · 08/02/2022 14:41

@poorbuthappy

What is the difference between this and the school teacher who slapped (is that the right word?) her horse?
Several months, for one thing. She's been prosecuted and fired, but it didn't happen overnight - it can't.

This video emerged only a few hours ago. Give it a moment before the exclamations that he'll get away with it. The club will have to take legal advice about getting rid of him. Evidence and statements need gathering before prosecutions.

Sorry- understood! Easy mistake to make... not look on Twitter and you'll see all his defenders arguing we eat meat, it's just a cat, he apologised🤮

b)give that scumbag a bloody good hiding.
