Apologies, couldn’t see a thread about this.

Just seen the most horrendous video of a West Ham footballer drop kicking his cat Shock across the room, then throwing things at it, then slapping it out of someone’s arms.

(Link to video mobile.twitter.com/emilyhewertson/status/1490811894197886981?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet)

It’s being published by the sun, but what I don’t understand is, why when (quite rightly) the lady who slapped the horse was sacked, all West Ham have said was that they “have spoken to him and will deal with internally”.

This is horrendous! The poor cat

I hope there are repercussions -
Unfortunately these men are held in high regard and should be brought to account accordingly

Whitney168 · 08/02/2022 11:02
@Whitney168 - sorry I meant in terms of outcome.

I expect him to lose his job shortly or at least be suspended pending investigation.
Sorry, wasn't querying your post at all, just that this one is even more serious to the animal in question and should have repercussions no matter how much more lucrative and marketable the bastard is!

Justcallmebebes · 08/02/2022 11:08

Absolute scum. Who are the team's sponsors (I know zero about football)? Is it worth targeting them and boycotting their products? Probably not. Can a petition be started up to present to the RSPCA?

It's a very unfair wold we live in

youngestisapsycho · 08/02/2022 11:08

How do we make a complaint to the RSPCA?

TooMuchPaper · 08/02/2022 11:11

@Justcallmebebes
If you look at West Ham website the sponsors are listed there. I hope they are being swamped with messages.

suckingonchillidogs · 08/02/2022 11:13

How thick do you have to be to film it? Don't they think "this won't make me look good" beforehand? What a dick

StrawberryPot · 08/02/2022 11:50

So he's issued an apology and said about his cats -

They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behaviour was an isolated incident that will not happen again.

That's okay then 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

youngestisapsycho · 08/02/2022 12:01

You can only report cruelty by phoning in... no online service. Their website says "our phone line are under huge pressure"

Mike Graham on Talk radio is talking about this all morning, he is calling for Kurt Zouma to be sacked from West Ham and to be prosecuted for animal cruelty.

@Nandakanda

Although he treated the cat appallingly, I suspect he's originally from a culture in which pets are regarded as....animals?
So animals can be kicked and slapped about if they are not a pet?! what a ridiculous thing to say Shock
theneverendinglaundry · 08/02/2022 12:09

I would hazard a guess that animals are treated as roughly as this every day in the meat industry.....

peachescariad · 08/02/2022 12:11

WTAF

What a pathetic comment - he's French.....so it's Ok to do this in France?

Any French people on here who can confirm this happens?....I don't think so

TimePoliceTeam236 · 08/02/2022 12:17

@theneverendinglaundry

I would hazard a guess that animals are treated as roughly as this every day in the meat industry.....

And that makes it fucking all right does it?

I'm sorry but I'm fuming. This piece of shit needs to be prosecuted (but he won't be because our police are rubbish), sacked (but he won't be because football is all about money) and investigated for animal abuse (but he won't be because the RSPCA are shit too).

StrawberryPot · 08/02/2022 12:20

I would hazard a guess that animals are treated as roughly as this every day in the meat industry.....

And I'm sure you're right (which is why I don't eat meat) but that has no bearing at all here. Some people do that to babies fgs. There's always something worse people can point to.

Schmoozer · 08/02/2022 12:27

RSPCA on twitter are saying they are looking into it but cannot comment ….

Animals get treated like This in the meat industry so no point belly aching about this poor cat ??
What’s your point ????
Animal abuse should be called out in any setting / industry etc

A596881B · 08/02/2022 12:30

Nandakanda I’m no expert on France but I don’t imagine this is standard practice there

ABitBesottedWithMyDog · 08/02/2022 12:30

Deeply upsetting

AlecTrevelyan006 · 08/02/2022 12:34

It's clearly not a one off. If I kicked one of our cats and slapped it in front of my family, they'd all lose their shit, because it's never happened and naturally they'd be shocked. What they wouldn't do is film it whilst laughing.

What an absolute c*

ButterMeTimbers · 08/02/2022 12:36

@Nandakanda

Although he treated the cat appallingly, I suspect he's originally from a culture in which pets are regarded as....animals?
Oh I agree , animals need to be treated as animals (pets and otherwise). To treat animals as animals is to give them, at the bare minimum),the 5 freedoms:

Freedom from hunger and thirst.
Freedom from discomfort.
Freedom from pain, injury or disease.
Freedom to express normal behaviour.
Freedom from fear or distress.

So it would appear from the video clip he's not treating his cat as animal. He's treating it as a football and later as a punching bag. And he's teaching the child in the video to do the same. What a twat.

StrawberryPot · 08/02/2022 12:40

MandyCarter · 08/02/2022 12:43

He kicked an animal for the shits & giggles
It's a police matter
Vile pathetic excuse for a man, father and son. I'd be ashamed to know him
He should be sacked as he knew precisely what he was doing
Shame on his club for not acting accordingly

TimePoliceTeam236 · 08/02/2022 12:44

Signed and shared. Thanks @StrawberryPot

Horriblewoman · 08/02/2022 12:44

It's absolutely disgusting and I'm sure it's not a one off.

I was just reading a number of comments under one of the articles on twitter and there were a lot of men saying 'this isn't animal abuse, he's just mucking around Grin' which is even more upsetting.
