Let's face it most people think trafficking is always some kidnapped girl in a foreign country being held against their will, but that's not always the case.

Sometimes seemingly free women are blackmailed, threatened, love bombed or manipulated into it.

Either way it's wrong and women suffer life long mentally from such treatment.

What I don't understand is how Andrew, quite rightly imo. is having to be accountable for his actions. Donald Trump isn't. He can be seen in photos on Epsteins plane smirking. I find it hard to believe he is innocent.

SenecaFallsRedux · 13/01/2022 22:35

It's somewhat murky, but I think the Queen may be able to revoke princely titles and HRH style with Letters Patent. As mentioned by several posters, peerages can only be revoked by an act of Parliament.

But as in the case of the LPs of 1917, the king restricted the use of prince/princess and HRH. It had the effect of removing the princely title of Prince Alastair of Connaught, who became the Earl of MacDuff, a subsidiary title of his mother, who was a duchess in her own right.

I think that this difference between princely titles and peerages is related to the notion that princely titles have long been more a matter of custom than of legal right. It wasn't until the nineteenth century that princely titles became regularized in the UK. Prior to that, some children and grandchildren of monarchs were not always called prince or princess, especially females. The grandchildren of Charles I by his son James II and VII were called Lady Mary and Lady Anne. They both became Queens regnant.

amusedtodeath1 · 13/01/2022 22:35

Maybe it's because of the NDA she signed, maybe Andrew is the only person she can go after because he is not an American citizen?

testerwiki · 13/01/2022 22:36

What took them so long???! The hypocrisy is shocking.

As a dear friend always says; It's a reminder that we're never too old for the Universe to teach us a little lesson.

LuluBlakey1 · 13/01/2022 22:39

The Queen should not have to do anything to revoke any of his titles- if he had a shred of decency or integrity or concern for the damage his greed, entitlement and appalling judgement have caused his mother and the monarchy he would hand them back, all of them, and the house at Royal Lodge. He should take Ferguson and go abroad to live.

I did read what you wrote, that's why I responded.

Now you go and read what I wrote. Try if you can to absorb it too rather than stick to your victim blaming narrative.

Oh boy at the misogyny.[/quote]
give it up with your misogyny rubbish , love the way that word gets thrown about like confettii the minute a woman says she does not believe something another woman says or does not like another woman oh the horror , never knew that i had to believe everything another woman said or like her or it made me guilty of that lol

for what its worth i believe carolyn andriano one hell of a lot more than virginia roberts , but i suspect nothing would be good enough than all of us nodding along to your narrative that virginia roberts is a victim and we cant question anything she says , her accounts , nothing , we must believe her , and to say otherwise it to risk having labels stuck to us , or if someone really gets in a twist than the post gets reported like cancelling it out makes you feel all better now its off the thread

It more or less said on the news that his military positions needed to be removed because as head of the Grenadier guards he would be entitled to lead the jubilee procession.

Dancingonmoonlight · 13/01/2022 22:50

I wonder who advised Andrew to do that tv interview? No doubt they've been given the heave ho long ago!

Agree despicable that Harry's name was even mentioned in this thread. That man made the right decision leaving the UK.

AllThePogs · 13/01/2022 22:51

Can you imagine if that had happened!!
IWillFartOnYourCake · 13/01/2022 22:51

I'm sure I read that advisors urged Andrew not to do the Newsnight interview, but he thought he knew better. Apparently he's never been one for taking advice from palace advisors. His ego won't let him.

AllThePogs · 13/01/2022 22:53

His PR firm who told him not to do the interview, quit a week before. I guess they did not want any association with it. They must have known he would make an idiot of himself.
What amazes me is that he thought the interview had gone well.

mathanxiety · 13/01/2022 22:54

@Dancingonmoonlight, Harry is looking more and more like the smart one in the family.

He should volunteer to renounce his titles. he would if he wasn't a cowardly freeloading user. what difference does it make at this stage in his life? His children have titles and are married off. He has his big house and enough money to live in it.

katepilar · 13/01/2022 22:58

@WinnieTheW0rm

sent to traditional English public schools

Gordonstoun isn't English - it's north of Inverness! And was chosen because it wasn't a traditional school

The students are tought in the English system, not Scottish. It's more east of Inverness than north of Inverness.
BashStreetKid · 13/01/2022 23:01

@drybird

Will he be paying his own league fees now?
I think the Queen made it clear some time ago that she wasn't going to cough up for them.
Smallkeys · 13/01/2022 23:08

I watched the interview today and was like ok I can buy that you went over to cancel your relationship these kind of chats are often done during a walk but then as the interview went on he then stayed on with Epstein and attended a dinner over the coming days why ?

I’m nit sure wether I believe Virginia had sex with him I do believe she was used and. Manipulated and in turn she also procured and manipulated. The photo of them he looks very uncomfortable but in photos of him with other woman at close contact he looks very relaxed. Either way he has deserved what has happened ....

worriedatthemoment · 13/01/2022 23:09

@AlternativePerspective exactly and especially when as yet there has been no trial ad conviction either

worriedatthemoment · 13/01/2022 23:22

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz but what if they have no idea they were trafficked ? How does it work then?

kizzywizz · 13/01/2022 23:26

Do we think there will be a quick and low key remarriage for him and Fergie so he can play the respectable married man card.

Spongeboob · 13/01/2022 23:26

@jamandmarmaladethesecondcoming

So the Prince of Darkness will now just be known as Randy Andy: The Right Wrong Un
Hey let's not fuck up Ozzy's title in connection with this shithouse nonce.
LovelyYellowLabrador · 13/01/2022 23:29

Why has this taken so long !!
