Storm I can link it. But seeing that young girl running round after Epstein is really (to me) quite upsetting, know what's gone on.

Roussette · 13/01/2022 20:28

*knowing what's gone on

AllThePogs · 13/01/2022 20:28

This is what happens. Andrew the sex offender and rapist is being talked about and someone brings up - what about Harry and Meghan. It is a total diversion.
Andrew is accused of serious criminal offences. Yes it is being held as a civil case, but it is about serious crimes.

One of my old schools is named after him - wonder if they will change it now

@youtown

Do you think of virgin takes money she's an utter scammer though? People keep talking about out of court settlement - she can't be that passionate about being abused if she accepts money IMO
And I suppose you also think if Andrew settles it means he didn't do it because he wasn't found guilty by the court ?

It's been said time without number, but no wonder women struggle so much with rape/abuse cases in the court system when it's so heavily stacked against them and other women post such inanity.

FFS.

Have you been following this case at all? Her lawyer Boies was on TV last night saying she wants to take it further than the money.

But of course if she does at any point , she will be blamed by people like you.

@Aroundtheworldin80moves

And I presume he will stay in the line of succession too.
To be fair his place in the line of succession is about as relevant as my place in it - 8 people, including 5 young children, would need to die for him to get within sniffing distance of the throne.
AllThePogs · 13/01/2022 20:30

Just to get to this stage takes incredible strength and commitment from Virginia. She is not a rich and powerful woman. She does not have a rich and powerful family behind her. In spite of that she is taking on someone with a lot of money and power behind him.

x2boys · 13/01/2022 20:32

I don't really care if she is after money tbh at least she has exposed him for what he is .

HopefulProcrastinator · 13/01/2022 20:33

@Blossomtoes

Completely opposite to Harry, the regiments wanted to keep him but weren't allowed

They really didn’t. They were as glad to see the back of him as they are of Andrew. The military hates Harry, they think he’s a traitor.

There's a lot of hatred for his wife which is probably blatant racism but the regiments he was connected with did not want to lose him and have publicly stated this.

By comparison, there's been public requests for Andrew to be disassociated from his military titles despite unlike Charles seeing active service.

I'm ex-military and still have a lot of links. I've not seen or heard anything that supports your view.

amusedtodeath1 · 13/01/2022 20:34

People agree to out of court settlements for all sorts of reasons not always because they don't have a case. So far VG has indicated that having her case heard is more important than money.

It doesn't seem to me that she's only after money, she also runs a foundation or charity to help other trafficked people, so again her motives don't seem to be purely selfish.

Well said. This is the conversation I had with my daughters this evening. Virginia has demonstrated huge courage.

Given that it’s a hereditary monarchy I’m not sure they can strip the title. Stopping use of it is all they can do, and it is a very strong statement.

I think the Queen can alter princely titles and HRH through Letters Patent. It would require an Act of Parliament to remove the peerages.

HopefulProcrastinator · 13/01/2022 20:35

@MuchuseasaChocolateTeapot

Blimey Charles and William are going to busy at the Cenotaph, no Philip, Andrew or Harry, they’ll have to double up on wreath placing 😳
Princess Anne has strong links with the military and is well thought of. I wouldn't be shocked to see her or her children being given some of the redistributed titles.
JanuaryBluehoo · 13/01/2022 20:37

Photos now of epstein on the podium of the white house.
He's been at the heart of power everywhere.

Blossomtoes · 13/01/2022 20:37

Best check out the Army Rumour Service then. I leave you to discover what they call him, if I told you the post would be deleted.

Roussette · 13/01/2022 20:37

@Floundery

That is a very good point. I hadn't connected the dots, but yes

CathyorClaire · 13/01/2022 20:38

This thread title is conjuring up pictures I can never unsee Angry

Anyways. He hasn't had a public life for over two years but he's still DoY. He still has the run of royal palaces wherein he will no doubt still get to be 'sir'. We will still be funding his security when he ventures off royal estates.

It looks dramatic but the reality is it simply formalises the changes made since he stepped back after Newsnight.

Covidclaire · 13/01/2022 20:39
@Covidclaire there are thousands of rich kids getting those grades spoonfed to them, at great expense. Do you really think everyone with an A at A Level is intelligent?
Well they’re certainly not thick as custard.

batmanladybird · 13/01/2022 20:39

@SockFluffInTheBath

Good. I feel for the Queen in this. She’s an old lady, recently widowed, and her son’s sexual conduct, or lack there of maybe, is splashed all over the front pages.
Yes me too
batmanladybird · 13/01/2022 20:40

@DobbyTheHouseElk

That’s a massive deal. No HRH. That will really hurt him.

Best news ever. He will be Andrew now, hahaha. Bet he’s sweating now.

Grin
amusedtodeath1 · 13/01/2022 20:40

So many people who are trying to defend or criticise H&M, when this has Fuck All with them. Harry was not well liked in his regiment, but I don't recall seeing people calling for him to be stripped of his title.

Now can we please stop dragging them into this?

JanuaryBluehoo · 13/01/2022 20:41

Virginia is an extremely brave person and whatever she does is her business and her right.
I hope she does force Andrew into the Dock, I'd donate to crowd fund to assist with this.
However I would also understand if she accepted a settlement and moved on with her life.

Whatever she personally does however, the legacy she leaves is far more powerful.

Roussette · 13/01/2022 20:41

I wish we could amused. They may have their faults but they have absolutely nothing to do with this.
