Hello Ladies - hopefully a new thread for you... @Carosel2 @Whitestar55 @Chrissols @danblack87 @flutterby18 @wfh21 @workingfromhomenow @cherryblossom114 @Lovemydaxie @homeworkmum and anyone else I have forgotten.

@Galy123: yeah, and that one too. The bosses all had to leave early 'cos they had big houses out in the sticks Hmm

not a good day, I have been a PlusNet customer for many years and every now and then they seem to do something odd. I took out a new contract with them in January which started 18 February, which is supposed to be £23.22 a month for basic broadband and phone line. Today I received my first bill for the new contract - £72! Looking at it they have charged for February - which I have already paid - March, but also April for some strange reason. Have no idea what they are doing. Will obviously phone to query it but not now as need to work and I know from experience that if you phone any time other than very early you are on hold for ages, and ages. Then of course, you have to hope you get someone sensible on the other end. Also, there was no mention of the compensation I was told I would get for when my phone line and broadband went down for a few days.....their "award winning customer service" - their words, not their customers, had better be ready......

@Gally123 Oh no, I hope you get it sorted, what a pity you've just taken up a new contract with them.

On a DICT8 note, think I need a break, it's getting to me, why can't they speak properly, dictator trying to say a number and can only manage something that sounds like 'de dat dur de'!

Gally123 · 18/03/2022 13:41

@Whitestar55 - I did leave a query on their Facebook page - social media can be very helpful as long as you are not unduly rude etc and I am told they have rectified it but as far as I can see it still shows £72, which if taken will make me overdrawn - I have two bank accounts, one for DICT8 and one for TPRO and the DICT8 one has very little in at the moment...

@Whitestar55 I feel your pain. I had a long task today with an English doctor who could not string a sentence together, it was done in bullet point format and was a total ffing nightmare, felt like crying at the end of it !!!

WatermelonRed · 18/03/2022 14:32

Does anyone else have a really quiet speciality they type for? I had 2 letters yesterday afternoon and so far today there’s been nothing!

Gally123 · 18/03/2022 14:33

@Meha5a - I get quite a few of those types of letter. Took me by surprise the first time that there was no "body of letter" just diagnoses, investigations and plan all done in sort of short hand bullet points/numbering.

OP posts:
Meha5a · 18/03/2022 15:13

@Gally123 and this letter had no conjunctions either, mind you the person sounded half asleep !!!!

carosel2 · 18/03/2022 16:02

@WatermelonRed - I get that a lot and supposed to have two of the busiest specialties (or so I was told). Its either that or lots that are shocking dictation and you just know there's gonna be feedback as the dictation is just vile!

musicismagic333 · 18/03/2022 16:40

Goodness, that sounds SO FAMILIAR, you think it's only your hospital where that happens. Also, it got so bad between one group of consultants they had to get outside mediators in.

Cherryblossom114 · 18/03/2022 20:54

danblack87 ..No-one notices if you stay late 'cos they all f**ED of an hour ago!!!!
SOO TRUE

Cherryblossom114 · 18/03/2022 22:44

Those P&O workers unbelievable..I could see Dict8 follow suit and get people, who are happy to work 2p a line😟

Whitestar55 · 18/03/2022 23:50

I'll do it for 2p a line if they make a line = 10 characters Wink. It's awful for the P&O workers, I hope they all find better jobs.

joewe41 · 19/03/2022 00:06

Sounds like the same person I had yesterday. Every two sentences was a new paragraph and he couldn't make up his mind about a string of bullet points with paragraphs between or new line. Any wonder I'm going grey Grin

Meha5a · 19/03/2022 10:33

@joewe41 I had a day of ums and errrrrrrs !!!! "sorry, change that, no keep that" and seconds later "change what I said there, put it here" !!!! my head hurt for an hour afterwards 🤣

musicismagic333 · 19/03/2022 12:55

They should offer free Botox injections for all the frown lines caused by trying to figure out what the hell they're saying!!

musicismagic333 · 23/03/2022 11:57

Can't believe it, must be, I dunno, year or two since I applied to WeType and I got an email from them a couple of weeks ago having heard nothing since I applied. Today, I've got a text from them asking if I'm still interested. Does anyone have knowledge of this company? Am I missing out on something good?!

Gally123 · 23/03/2022 12:17

@musicismagic333 - don't go there! You will need your own software as well as foot pedal etc. They insist on top of the range head phones. The woman in charge is as rude as the one from DICT8. They seem to get people to do really long typing tests - I had one that was 2 pages long plus another letter, someone else on this forum was asked to do 6 letters I think. The general opinion is that they use the typing tests to clear clinic letters. They take very few people on. I lasted two days with them then quit over the software problems. Pay is variable about the same as DICT8 on average. They pay depending on the complexity of the letter.

Gally123 · 23/03/2022 12:18

@musicismagic333 - also they insist workers are part time or full-time. I was supposed to do mornings with them and one full day. 9am sharp she emailed through my first task. There is no dipping in and out, and no rejection of tasks.

OP posts:
danblack87 · 23/03/2022 12:53

I seem to be getting the most crappiest, hard-to-hear, can't string-a-sentence together incorrect grammar tasks today .... yep RTX is back with a vengeance. It's so bloody frustrating ... loads on but the every block of 5 it JUST TOTAL CRAP!!! [SAD]

danblack87 · 23/03/2022 12:55

I refuse to do these SHITE tasks ... Mid-organising moving house - rather be working!!! The move will be a slow process/not rushing (about 3 months)!!

danblack87 · 23/03/2022 12:59

@musicmagic333: Five WeType a v.wide berth. You will be used and abused and not taken on for your effort with pittance pay - especially against outlay would take you into MINUS PAY. WeType Angry.

carosel2 · 23/03/2022 13:23

@musicismagic333 - I agree with @Gallly123 - I had typed 6 tasks and was told to take my time as they were looking for someone who 'could get' this doctor's dictation. It was one of my specialities and though struggled at first, but because I had time, I fathomed out what was being said and felt very pleased with myself to submit, only to be told, the transcribing wasn't up to scratch and had to be 'perfect' every time as the letters got sent straight out? I personally think they used me to get this contract or to get shut of a backlog of this particular doc's dictation! They said try again in another few months??? why, so I could do a few more letters for them for nothing. AVOID!!

musicismagic333 · 23/03/2022 13:55

Oh dear, sounds like it would be out of the frying pan into the fire. In that case I'll stick to the devil I know. The pay is an insult but Dict8 is perfect for me right now because I can do a few minutes at a time, as my broken wrist allows. Thanks all for the warning.
