Hello Ladies - hopefully a new thread for you... @Carosel2 @Whitestar55 @Chrissols @danblack87 @flutterby18 @wfh21 @workingfromhomenow @cherryblossom114 @Lovemydaxie @homeworkmum and anyone else I have forgotten.

I can understand why DICT8 have 5000 transcribers contracted now, it improves the chances of someone typing the rubbish and clearing the five jamming the list, especially the unsuspecting newbies. They are still recruiting too, so I doubt 5000 are actually actively transcribing.

wfh21 · 18/02/2022 11:17

And more RTX feedback - the proof readers are clearly all over this hospital as haven't had this much feedback for months !!! They must be from the Boris Johnson School of instructions. Do use the DICT8 template. Do not use the DICT8 template. Type as dictated. Do not type as dictated ????? FFS

Gally123 · 18/02/2022 11:27

@Whitestar55 sometimes I think they do not give the newbies such rubbish as they do not want to lose any that might be any good. It is just longstanding typists like us who get the cr*p as I am sure I had better dictation when I first started, I certainly earned more at times with less specialties. I think they just gradually slip the rubbish in and hope no-one notices, until one day you wake up and realise that that is all there is.

The DICT8 template one size fits all is inadequate anyway. It's only a letter template and not suitable for op notes etc. I find I have to make it up as I go along, just as the proofreaders seem to do.

I also had a doctor dictate full stops in the diagnoses list in a specialty that supposedly has requested no full stops in lists, confirming my suspicion that it was just one particular Trust that requested this at some point rather than all the Trusts in the country with this particular specialty that use DICT8, and obviously individual doctors are not aware.

wfh21 · 18/02/2022 12:56

just had crustaceans on skin dictated in PMH - I despair 😩

Gally123 · 18/02/2022 13:18

@wfh21 - could be if referring to fleas or pubic lice etc. No sure about scabies. Ringworm?

OP posts:
wfh21 · 18/02/2022 14:06

@Gally123 No it was a skin eruption that had formed a yellowish "crustacean" I did type as dictated though 🤣🤣

danblack87 · 19/02/2022 07:19

@wfh21: 'crustation': The act or process of forming a crust!!

wfh21 · 19/02/2022 11:32

@danblack87, well I never, in all my centuries of dermatology have never come across the use of this one ! has anyone else ?

danblack87 · 19/02/2022 13:00

@wfh21: I came across it a few weeks ago and, like you, I immediately thought of crabs!!! I looked it up hahahhaha. I don't type dermatology but it crosses into two of my specialties and NO I had never heard it before Grin.

wfh21 · 19/02/2022 13:06

Lol when I looked it up came back as the name of a band 🤣🤣

danblack87 · 19/02/2022 13:09

@wfh21: When I first came across it a few weeks ago 'there were crustaceans in the nose'!!! Images of crabs in the nose immediately came to my mind. LOL

danblack87 · 19/02/2022 13:13

Of course, be a cancerian I would be biased towards Crustacean.!!

Whitestar55 · 21/02/2022 15:38

Are Tpro still recruiting? I'm at the end of my tether with the rubbish dictation on DICT8

danblack87 · 21/02/2022 17:11

I have had an e-mail regarding new invoicing system going live on Dict8. No more postal invoices ... yeah!!

flutterby18 · 21/02/2022 17:38

@danblack - yeah about flipping time. I am now 100% certain that this thread is being followed. What about the non-payment for work done in the message box Dict8? Do the right thing - nobody wants to work for free.

Workingfromhomenow · 21/02/2022 17:39

That’s great news. Perhaps the next thing will be payment by bank transfer instead of waiting for cheques in the post!

carosel2 · 21/02/2022 18:08

Good news about the invoices!! Wonder if its paid by BACS or will we still get a cheque in post. I suppose itl be a cheque as they would have state a deadline date for all invoices to be in by if it was done via BACS. At least its a step forward at last. Agree about the notes box, yes they need to start charging the client for using that hence paying us too, then its a win win by us and Dict8 Smile

Fireworksatforty · 21/02/2022 18:17

I love this thread. It puts into words everything I've been thinking to myself all day.

And RTX...... Angry

wfh21 · 21/02/2022 18:51

At last DICT8 drags itself into the 21st century !!! This is a positive step in the right direction for all freelance typists on DICT8. To really maximize cutting their carbon footprint (I am lead to believe that all London based companies love to do this😉) why not cut-out the middle man and put our money straight into the bank, save a few trees too. 🌳

Time to address the note box DICT8

Whitestar55 · 22/02/2022 11:01

......Don't forget the pay rise and perhaps shares in the company DICT8, please that would be appreciated. Thanks.

Gally123 · 22/02/2022 11:16

I have had virtually no internet over the weekend, just catching up on things now.

@Whitestar55 - I do not know if Tpro are still recruiting, it might say on their website, but no harm in trying, what have you got to lose?

Regarding the online invoices - I just hope they make it a simple process for non technical people to follow - and remind us of the log in details for the website!

OP posts:
danblack87 · 22/02/2022 11:23

@Gally123: re. invoicing - I thought it would be added to the list of options we had already once we log in: So like 'payment history' would just be 'invoicing' ... am I being daft!!!

danblack87 · 22/02/2022 11:27

@Carosel2: I don't mind BACS or chq to be honest. I have to go to the bank more regular now that the banks are changing over to OTP - it's a ballache for me 'cos I can't shop on-line now (not since January) ... I don't have a mobile phone and I refuse to buy one!!

Gally123 · 22/02/2022 11:32

@danblack87 - I do not have a mobile phone either - I changed my bank account to Lloyds and also got their credit card as they use a landline for OTP - the only bank that does, so I can still do online shopping (and online banking).
