Unfortunately today I too have been visited by the dreaded RTX s*%t show that passes as dictation 😡 and earning 0

@wfh21: Not achieved too much myself today. Good news, I don't owe the tax man anything ... hmmm, no surprise there!!!!

I don't think I am going to get much work done today - having broadband problems, keeps losing connection every few minutes, the weather (strong winds) here is better than yesterday but could be elsewhere I suppose. New router keeps flashing odd colours at me, which is not really helpful....still I suppose slow work is better than no work, but frustrating.

Yep that wind blew my garden furniture all over the garden, broke the garden table 😱

So, after yesterday's frustrating non-profitable day I have made a decision not to attempt anymore RTX dictation as it's just not worth my time, the dictation is dire, the letters make no sense and if those dictating have no pride in their work then I can't be bothered either. I think DICT8 should withdraw this hospital.

@wfh21I too am doing RTX work but seem to be having a totally different experience to you, presumably because of different specialties. The dictation I am doing for them is lovely and clear.

wfh21: my furniture also blown all the way across my decking ... no damage - lots of large twigs and branches strewn across the pathway at the back of my house.

@wfh21: I am struggling with RTX too .. Ironing in between jobs!!!

@wfh21 - have you tried applying to Tpro? The work load has suddenly gone back up again in my hospital (it went from little in January to over 1,000 letters on the system, then down to about 600 and now up to over 1400 this week). Yesterday they sent a message round saying it will get busier! It is just VR and lower pay per line but there are some good dictators, and once you get used to it you can earn a bit, and anything is better than nothing. I use Tpro and DICT8 together.

@Gally123, I did apply but haven't heard anything I will have to give them an email especially if the RTX problem continues for me !

@wfh21 - yes, I followed my application up with an email to check it had been received. The woman that does the recruitment does also always seem to be on holiday(!) but I persisted and glad I did, esp as now they pay the bonus to all staff and not just those on old typing contracts.

With DICT8 I just expect the use the ALT N multiple times now. In fact they should change their company name to ALT N Transcription.

I don't do the long notes to sec though. I am not a voluntary worker. I need to pay my bills and eat, which is a struggle as it is in this line of hard labour.

In the past I've worked in an engineering factory, amongst a few other physical jobs, and all were better paid and less tiring than this.

Just heard back from Plusnet regarding my query over the slow broadband and my connection keeps dropping out and they do not know why! I need an engineer visit. What next can go wrong?

@Whitestar55 - I feel your pain 😩 only reason I'm hanging on in there is because of the convenience factor

"RTX" ....Most of the male dictators all sounds like they've gone over the recommended alcohol intake...there is a particular one. I think he has the dictaphone on his mouth.. how he can think thats accepted for someone to listen to to type is beggars belief..

giggle of the day on the voice recognition - dictator "I have also order Eccles..." and I am imaging them all tucking into cakes. (I changed it to echo)

@Cherryblossom114 - have to agree. I received a page of feedback from our lovely proof readers about this hospital the other day - didn't bother reading it just binned it. Had the proof readers acknowledged to start with that the dictation is not up to scratch I would have read on - one of the reasons I decided not to continue doing RTX work as it's not worth my time, the money or the hassle from DICT8.

I haven't come across RTX yet but I didn't start until 9 am

Oh NOOOOOoooo me and my big mouth!! There are RTX now

Oh well, I am off to pick up my new glasses today - that will help with the screen but not with RTX, unfortunately. I think I will pass on those until I get back //// I am sure they will still be there
