@Gally123: hope you get your problem sorted today ... what a crap year so far Sad

danblack87 · 07/02/2022 12:47

@Gally123: My m8 was struggling since April of last year - I only saw him last Monday we had a good chat ,,, no indication but he was angry. I checked in by msg on Thursday morning and he said he wasn't feeling well. Then I hear he went and done what he did Sad. x

danblack87 · 07/02/2022 12:54

I think men have deep-seated issues and they feel the weaker and say less than they should BUT we had a good friendship .. I just can't believe it ... he refused to seek help when he should have

Gally123 · 07/02/2022 13:37

@danblack87 at one of the hospitals I worked a woman went home one evening to find her husband had hung himself. He had been depressed for a while but the final straw was that someone he knew had a job opening but he found out about it too late, and the thought that he had missed out (he thought if he had applied the job was surely his) tipped him over the edge.

danblack87 · 07/02/2022 13:41

Just the simplest thing can do it if they are 'lost' and don't feel able to seek help. That's why I was here to talk to him whenever he needed. I can't understand why he didn't call/.knock my door ??? I think he was just too far past help. I am absolutely devastated.

danblack87 · 07/02/2022 13:46

Moving forwards peeps . how are things going on Dict8 today ... I'll get round to it at some point today Smile

carosel2 · 07/02/2022 14:48

@danblack87 - oh that is so, so sad Sad, I am so very sorry, I feel for you, as we had it with a young family member, just didn't expect it, but when they are so low, I'm afraid nothing can help them as they can't see a way out. It is so very tragic, thinking of you Flowers

danblack87 · 07/02/2022 15:04

@Carosel2: Flowers.

danblack87 · 07/02/2022 15:12

Passing on work today - just not got it in me.

Cherryblossom114 · 08/02/2022 14:19

@danblack87 Sorry to hear of your loss, so sad 🙏🏾

Cherryblossom114 · 08/02/2022 14:27

@Gally123...
Hope the plumber is kind...lots of rough men out there. Bet you needed that ...#?$%

Gally123 · 08/02/2022 18:08

@Cherryblossom114 - the plumber has been delayed this week but should be coming tomorrow. And then again next Thursday to carry on as unlikely to finish all tomorrow as have to dig up concrete floor and then replace it after the pipes/source of leak have been sorted.

OP posts:
danblack87 · 09/02/2022 10:17

@Gally123: I feel for you with all the mess and waiting ... soon be sorted we hope.

Gally123 · 09/02/2022 11:10

@danblack87 - plumber has been and gone this morning. Another good check round, water pressure on boiler, water meter, taps etc, no obvious source for leak. It was a young chap and I do not think he really wanted the job of digging through the concrete of the bathroom floor, or removing the toilet. However, at the moment everything looks okay and it must have been something that had built up over time, as the first plumber who came out on Saturday told the chap this morning we had been "swimming" in water at the weekend. A bit of a head scratcher.

OP posts:
Whitestar55 · 09/02/2022 16:18

When the dictator starts saying 'change this, delete that, add such a thing, where it says xxxx change to yyyyy' etc, I'm so tempted just to type: - Note to secretary: Listen to message at this point.

Gally123 · 09/02/2022 16:33

@Whitestar55 - ask @danblack87 about her experience in this situation...

OP posts:
Whitestar55 · 09/02/2022 16:36

I suppose it was like it or lump it (or choose to dump it - which is what I did haha).

wfh21 · 09/02/2022 16:54

@Whitestar55, good point, why we have to spoon-feed the obvious to the secretary baffles me ?

Whitestar55 · 09/02/2022 17:34

Dictation is rubbish today, lots of it building up, obviously no one wants to do it.

carosel2 · 09/02/2022 18:00

Where has all the good dictation gone? It never used to be this bad, its atrocious. Im not suprised the secretaries are off loading it.

Whitestar55 · 09/02/2022 18:51

Yeah, and where have all the good dictaphones gone? They need cleaning or chucking out, the audio is crackly.

danblack87 · 10/02/2022 02:19

@whitestar55: A long time ago now I typed just that 'Note to Sec: listen to msg at this point' ... Notice from proof reader: You must type the msg you hear in the box in it's entirety as dictated NOT 'listen to msg' Grin
