Hello Ladies - hopefully a new thread for you... @Carosel2 @Whitestar55 @Chrissols @danblack87 @flutterby18 @wfh21 @workingfromhomenow @cherryblossom114 @Lovemydaxie @homeworkmum and anyone else I have forgotten.

@Workingfromhomenow - Yes exactly, if it was so undecipherable I wouldn't want it back, but I'm certainly not going to waste my time emailing it to DICT8 in the first place anyway. As you said, they would notice it eventually and those on an hourly rate can sort it out as far as I'm concerned.

@wfh21 It now says 35 subscribers and there is a choice to subscribe so I think it must just be Dict8 transcribers who have subscribed to YouTube - not too sure about that though.

I'm more intrigued as to why it has 8 likes lol.

Leave it someone else will type it / email it to dict8 / wait for feedback / leave notes....decisions. 💆‍♀️

I think the amount of transcribers is perhaps how many have 'opened the link'. As I understand it we just send the Task number by e-mail where it will be listened to at the other end and then they will contact the dictator if untranscribe-able or they will send an E-mail back to say to transcribe with notes. I am willing to give it ago [and keep a note of the task numbers I have queried]. If we let them know then perhaps the amount of tasks waiting will go down and then perhaps we can get some typing done ... the list waiting seems to be endless at the moment and I do believe the amount that are being left is due to reasons of which we discuss regularly - I'll do that, especially if it has already been a long day. I am willing to give it a go if only to get things moving forward .

Seen the email now !!! So really just a gimmick to get us to work for nothing as more unpaid notes than paid text !!!!

Maybe they should have made better use of their money and looked at ways to get the note box to register lines to be paid. Personally I don't feel this is a task that cannot be overcome, besides man was sent to the moon !!

Next on the agender then ladies is a pay rise, especially in this current climate - ready for the next fight ???

Its okay saying email task that is bad so dict8 can make a decision on how to deal with it and pick another task to type that is clear but how can you when all 5 tasks are same and the ones coming in behind are same. We just wouldnt get any work done and make no money at all. Ive typed lots of crap to try and free up the list of them. I think it would make more sense if their system worked more like Tpro where they let us view the whole of the tasks within our speciality alone then we could type to our hearts content and it would leave behind the bad ones for them clearly to see which ones were which. Im not saying show listing for every speciality but just the ones we individuals type for. We should have access to the lot not just 5. That would make more sense then the proof readers can pick up the bad ones being left behind and inform dict8 which ones they are, thats what they are paid for unlike us.

An animated video on how to dictate clearly would be more useful, instead of, as always, putting the onus on the transcribers to make sense of the failings.

SO, I have now come to a standstill - loads waiting to be typed - nothing moving. As @Carousel2 says - we can only see the first 5, so until someone takes the plunge nothing much will be done today, same as yesterday and the day B4 ... therefore, I am going to e-mail task numbers that I cannot decipher. What could the answer be a) don't type it; b) attempt at notes (but I will only do the short ones if that is the case) c) notify info@dict8 d) act on advice or leave if prefer!! I am going out shortly for an eye test so I will cross the bridges when I get back.

Don't you think it is odd that only 5000 transcribers??

@carosel2 agree with this comment, would be the quickest way to deal with the problem rather than this back and forth, but then again this company seems to be all about their power trip over the typist don't they ?

@danblack87 Oh I don't game or youtube either (apart from music with the housework). I just laugh when something technical goes 'wrong' and my teenagers say "oh for goodness sake mum" I feel like a dinosaur!!!

@danblack87 - You have a point - I think that email has only been sent to the transcribers who have a particular Trust which is the main concern for them with the bad dictation at the moment, beyond the others that filter in amongst the good ones as they have always done. To me It quite obvious with a lot of comments on here it is one particular Trust that stands out and the fact it looks as though the video has only been opened at this time by 40 or so (as you point on out there are 5000 supposed transcribers), so to me that means there are only a few transcribers who have this Trust in their account, hence we are given only certain work to type for, which goes against what they say that all transcribers see the same work load, no they do not. That crap has been dumped in our account. Like I said before, why cant we view all letters in our subjects like we can at T-pro and pick which ever we choose to do regardless of date etc. its because we haven't access to them all in the first place. There is no doubt about it here, we are given certain accounts to work with but then even saying that, if that is what they do, then so be it, but they should still allow us to see all of our specialities letters not just 5, then the proof readers can pick up the bad ones, as they are getting paid regardless and identify the culprits quicker

I'm definitely finding more and more dictators are asking for copying and pasting of the 'headers' as they often call them. This makes the rest of the transcription difficult as we have no idea of the context when, for instance, a drug name is mumbled in the body of the letter. It's so damned unsatisfying and not at all lucrative Googling and guessing and using the notes box so frequently. I've never known it so bad in my years and years of medical transcribing. I doubt passing tasks back and forth for assessment will improve things. The video has, however, inspired me to have a go at making my own animations/art work and maybe one day a way out of full time transcribing (well I can dream). I already have my art pad, but haven't had the time or energy to use it, as this peanutty transcription larky takes up so much time.

@Whitestar55, perhaps your first one could be a list of the issues DICT8 need to sort out, sent on behalf of many disillusioned transcribers and maybe starting with a £*%^ing pay rise ? 🤣

I really need a cheerleader in the corner of my room today I am finding it a real slog with this dire dictation. In all the years doing this job it is the first time ever I have been bored 😴 rigid
