@Gally123: How you feeling today post-booster - chocolate well recommended after, maybe that is the new defeater against all ailments and rubbish dictators ... It's a feel good factor - on my 5th chocolate cookie of the day and 1/2 bar of chocolate too ... sod the wasteline LOL

danblack87 · 20/01/2022 13:58

In fact chocolate is such a booster I might resort to eating my grandchild's chocolate Krispies for breakfast Blush/.

danblack87 · 20/01/2022 14:03

The day started well and then it was cock womble after cockwomble Sad; hence the chocolate splurge ... well, someone's got to eat them and as there is only me 80% of the time they have to eat them before thy go out of date LOL

Gally123 · 20/01/2022 14:07

@danblack87 - actually feeling a little snuffly today, (I know other people complained of cold or 'flu symptoms) with slight head and neck ache - but I get frequent head and neck ache anyway (osteoporosis of the spine). Arm sore all night (which contributes to neck ache - poor sleep) but now miraculously arm pain all gone!

Managing to type okay - DICT8 not too bad compared to some days. For some reason this week on Tpro there has been less work, almost as if up until now the secretaries have been off post Christmas/New Year and now back and doing the typing instead. Also lots seems to be done overnight. Whereas last week over 1,300 letters, today 600-700 or so. Struggling to find my specialties so glad DICT8 better. Looking forward to the weekend though!!

I do not usually eat a lot of chocolate (and it has to be gluten and dairy free).

Hope you are okay as well.

Just laughing - can anyone translate 'cudjumara ishwa peas' ;LOLOLOLOLOLOL

danblack87 · 20/01/2022 14:16

@Gally123: I think I am high on chocolate - I don't usually eat it more of hoola hoops/savoury type fan. Glad you are okay

ShanJG · 20/01/2022 14:20

@danblack87 Ha Ha I feel you. I have no motivation to do anything think I have the January blues. I’m serious need of a holiday. Looking potentially like I won’t get away again this year either (especially considering I don’t have the jab).

@Gally123 I’m feeling the same. I have a really sore throat, tired and just feeling run down cough etc. Been taking Covid tests the last few days all negative. Think I caught it from my little girl. She’s been back at nursery less than two weeks and back to catching everything again all ready. The joys Grin

danblack87 · 20/01/2022 14:20

Inspiration moment; 'I think cudjamara ishwa peas' mean 'Could you mark this urgent please'!!! No second guessing, 'note to box' = dictation unclear ... laughing my sox off. Ridiculudicrous!!!

Gally123 · 20/01/2022 14:27

@ShanJG - I have had a holiday booked to Guernsey for the last two years, keeps getting deferred by holiday company, anyway, I had an email from Guernsey tourism yesterday saying dropping tests and isolation rules and also I think the need for vaccination, so hopeful my trip might go ahead this year esp as although the holiday is September, the travel company have specified we need insurance including COVID cover by April and to give them the details, so you might be lucky with finding somewhere, depends on airlines as well I suppose. I just had a few days away in UK instead for the last two years but need some sun etc.

ShanJG · 20/01/2022 14:39

Rubbish isn’t it! It’s not great not having a holiday to look forward to. Fingers crossed you get away this year. Myself and partner are hoping to go on our first family holiday together with the kids so hoping everything works out in the end. Well I live in Scotland so if we don’t get away we will just be booking a motorhome and doing the NC500 and some Munro’s along the way!Smile

danblack87 · 20/01/2022 14:49

Another funny one for you guy's, not to today I hasten to add - man dictating ... " I have discharged this lady back to my car " - OOOOh Dr !!!!!!

danblack87 · 20/01/2022 14:55

ShanJG: I have not been on holiday for over two years. Now that Government has scrapped all restrictions in UK how does that affect travelling abroad??

danblack87 · 20/01/2022 14:58

@ShanJG: I am thinking it will be one hell of a pain in the backside So this year I am thinking somewhere in UK>

samwitwicky · 20/01/2022 15:11

Hi all, I just came across this thread. I tried to apply for Dict8 but was told I don't have enough experience. I've been a clinical typist for 3 years. Is this normal? How did you all join?

danblack87 · 20/01/2022 15:18

@Samwitwicky: When I joined eons ago it was a requirement that you have five years proven experience as a med sec. Don't know the rules now - it's been a long time.

ShanJG · 20/01/2022 15:21

@danblack87 I’m assuming the UK can scrap the restrictions and allow international travel however unless other countries follow suit and allow us into the country without restrictions it will be pointless.

samwitwicky · 20/01/2022 15:22

Thank you, it's the same now. Oh well :(

Gally123 · 20/01/2022 15:25

@samwitwicky - try Tpro - I cannot remember what their requirements were. I just sent a mini CV with online application. Based in Ireland but they pay in sterling now. Voice recognition but it is okay.

wfh21 · 20/01/2022 18:42

I gave up today all my dictation sounded far-far-away in a different universe so was pretty hard to hear 🤷‍♀️

danblack87 · 23/01/2022 06:05

Well, feeling a lot better last couple of days but awake early this morning so I thought I would take a look at Dict8 and, yes, a fair few on. SO, I am going to do about 4 hours (if I can) before tackling cooking roast pork and all the 'ish (belated New Year's day dinner!!) Hope you all have a good weekend Smile

deewu · 23/01/2022 09:57

@danblack87 Roast pork for us too. Enjoy!

danblack87 · 24/01/2022 14:04

@indiepops: we are on this thread now!! (pay with Dict8 extra) Smile

Indiepops · 24/01/2022 14:33

Lovely, thank you

Indiepops · 24/01/2022 14:39

I probably shouldn't but on occasion when the transcriber just gives the name etc and then some instruction as to where to find the body of the letter I type the whole instruction in the main box, not the note to doctor box - I'm sure no-one else in the Dict8 organisation works unpaid so why should we?
