Is it just me or is it really warm at the moment for the time of year it is?

I’ve had to get the fan in from the garage!

Sorry it’s a boring weather post

@oatmilk4breakfast

In early Jan the weather is forecast to be very cold - more seasonal - but overall the climate is changing irreversibly. This is why the pledges at COP26 matter. A certain amount of warming is already baked into the system. We need to try and keep it below 2 degrees.
it's not forecast to be very cold early next month. A couple of days of more normal weather next week, then back to mild.

@coogee

I hate it, I stood outside to cool down and it’s the same temperature outside it’s ridiculous.

Twelve degrees inside your house?

Never said it was twelve degrees inside or outside, don’t know where you got that figure from. I really wish it was twelve degrees then I wouldn’t be so hot.
OzziePopPop · 30/12/2021 22:28

I’ve got the bedroom windows open again, I thought it was me! I’m not far out of Bristol, to the south west, apparently it’s about 14 degrees here now!

Doubledoorsontogarden · 30/12/2021 22:32

It’s so mild!!! Heating off here

RampantIvy · 30/12/2021 22:33

14 degrees forecast for tomorrow.

RubyJam · 30/12/2021 22:35

Yes we are in Scotland it was 12c today ! It’s usually so cold at Hogmanay you can store your cans of juice outside on the back door step ! Not this year- my fridge is colder

userxx · 30/12/2021 22:35

Weirdly mild. I'll take it though, I hate the cold weather.

justasking111 · 30/12/2021 22:35

Warm, wet, humid in n Wales my hayfever is bad again

FuckeryIsAfoot · 30/12/2021 22:35

14 c here today. It's depressing.

justasking111 · 30/12/2021 22:36

Oh and the cat won't come in she's still out hunting

chrisevans · 30/12/2021 22:37

I saw a bee the other day.

I also saw a caterpillar not so long ago.

Was weird.

It's like the world is warming up.

FuckeryIsAfoot · 30/12/2021 22:38

Had a huge, fat fly in the house too. Cause that's normal for fucking December.

TheSoapyFrog · 30/12/2021 22:38

God yes! Fan on, windows open... and I'm sweating.

lightisnotwhite · 30/12/2021 22:39

I love it. Hate tons of layers, being cold and defrosting the car.

I normally go to Southern Europe in Jan and air temp us similar. The house do have winter sunshine though whist it has been grey here.

My neighbours roses lasted until the beginning of December. I see they are blooming again now. Must be very confusing for plants.

justasking111 · 30/12/2021 22:40

Poor plants they're going to suffer when we get a cold snap 🥺

Darbs76 · 30/12/2021 22:40

My DD and her cousins were supposed to go ice skating at Somerset House (London) this evening but it had to close at 7pm as the ice was melting!! It was 14 degrees still at 7 when we left London tonight, very warm for the time of year.

RaininSummer · 30/12/2021 22:43

How odd. I don't think it's that warm although admittedly not freezing. Have had my heating on tonight and am now in bed with a hot water bottle.

FuckeryIsAfoot · 30/12/2021 22:43

See, I have an issue with this. The fact it's 12 to 15 c around the country in December is horrific. It shows us how royally fucked we are and then we have people saying how much they love it Confused I'm terrified, but you know, people don't need to defrost the car so..

JaceLancs · 30/12/2021 22:43

Thought it was just me and my hormone issues!

SweetPotatoDumpling · 30/12/2021 22:44

@Doggydreaming

Yep..sat around in short sleeves. Had to ditch the winter coat. Haven't even used my winter tog duvet this year. Or defrost the car. Nobody seems to be mentioning it though.

I was just thinking about this yesterday...I've still got my summer duvet on too! I've normally swapped it by November. And...I'm still kicking it half-off as I'm too hot!

MrsSkylerWhite · 30/12/2021 22:46

Yes, this.
We’ll be in trouble if this continues. If fruiting trees blossom early (our next door neighbour’s cherry is in blossom already, which is incredible) then frosts come, fruit harvests are stuffed.
It’s really worrying.

AmIoldbutdontrealiseit · 30/12/2021 22:47

Cold here and I’m in the Algarve 🙈🤷🏻‍♀️😬

It's not like the world is warming up. It actually is.

Not sure why an earlier comment about us all being dead in 20 years has got laughs.

RubyJam · 30/12/2021 22:47

I think the seasons are running later though , in Scotland now we typically have our snow late feb early March which is really weird, as on a normal calendar March is spring but it’s getting more prevalent to have snow first week or so

Actually I think I’m the only one that said it. And it’s true. I do love it.

Maybe the planet is fucked but that’s not down to me. I’m a child of the 70’s and grew up in houses that were freezing, everything second hand and picnics were boiled eggs and lettuce not 3 for £7 imported halfway across the world fancy snacks.

Moan at over consumption and politics not the person enjoying being able to get out and garden. Being sanctimonious will get you no where.Enjoy the 20 years we have left.
