Eating our 10-a-day thread (2)

Breathmiller · 28/12/2021 22:51

Hi all

This is our second thread about upping our veg and fruit intake on a daily basis.

We tend to list what we've had to keep us accoubtable and generally chat about how to increase the rainbow on our plate.

We don't always make 10 but anything more than you would normally is great. I like to at least get 5. 10 or even sometimes more is a great day.

All welcome whatever reasons.

Haven't posted in absolute ages! Tbh it was a case of out of sight, out of mind but I've just spotted thread on chat and it's great to see it still active. Have to say I have been quite good with my F&V despite my absence.

  1. Dates
  2. Onion/Garlic/Ginger
  3. Tomato and Tomato sauce (that comes with pilchards)
  4. Salad leaves - A good ol' mix with lots of kale
  5. Cucumber
  6. Radishes/red onion
  7. Sweetcorn/peas
  8. Watermelon

Lots of nice date varieties currently available. DH was gifted a box by his colleague and they are AMAZING. I've nearly finished them 😂but I need to find out where she bought them from!

Lovely to see you Twentin I'm also not on all the time but I do just eat more fruit and veg naturally now so don't feel the need to be so strict with it which is what the thread was for me. But, I'm always pleased it comes up on the chat because others are still engaging.

Anyone new wants to join, feel free to post daily or less. There is a link to the portion guide if you want to follow it that strictly and also photos for those that ths links don't work.

I'm not as strict about portion sizes at the moment as I am eating more intuitively (and a lot less generally and definitely a lot less junk). This way of thinking and this thread has really been a big help in helping me with my disordered eating.

Same here. I drop in and out. As long as I'm adding in more fruit and veg to my diet I'm happy. Some days are better than others but Im pretty good and getting 5-10 most days.
