Hi all

This is our second thread about upping our veg and fruit intake on a daily basis.

We tend to list what we've had to keep us accoubtable and generally chat about how to increase the rainbow on our plate.

We don't always make 10 but anything more than you would normally is great. I like to at least get 5. 10 or even sometimes more is a great day.

All welcome whatever reasons.

I may eat potatoes most days😂.

Postdatedpandemic · 26/01/2022 11:08

@PartyOnKale maybe you should just eat one 80g portion of potatoes a day and include them as one of your ten a day.
i.e. treat them the same as other vegetables

ChocolateButtonsOfShame · 26/01/2022 13:53

@PartyOnKale yes I think they're not included so people don't count chips? But I'd agree they should count. I do love potatoes.

Not doing as well today, had a job interview first thing and then a baby class so am fuelled by peanut butter.

No chocolate so though 😉

PartyOnKale · 26/01/2022 17:07

I essentially do that Postdatedpandemic.
I tried sweet potato but noone else likes them much. Also I do tend to prefer locally grown stuff.
I really don't stick to anything religiously, just have loose guidelines.

Thanks @ThisTownAintBigEnoughForBoth yes I think it will work well with a variety of flavours eaten together. I've tried kimchi once before, my ex-neighbour (Korean) sent some over with noodles and some other bits and I remember it being delicious. I think I might drop her a text for some inspo!

@MaybeHeIsMyCat what kind of cheese is that? Looking good!

I also have a salad to share. How many portions would people say it is? It has: salad leaves, roasted beetroot & butternut squash, tomatoes, cucumber, grated carrot, 1/4 avocado, goats cheese.

Also today: avocado on toast, banana, apple, orange, kale, potato (healthy potato and kale soup).

So maybe 8ish portions I guess.
