Fucking dogs!

Dogscanteatonions · 17/11/2021 20:41

I am so fucking done with dogs

I am sick of being jumped all over by dogs when I'm out running. I always slow to a walk when a dog approaches, I stand still if they seem aggressive. I have lost count of how many dogs that have jumped up on me and have made me muddy, left scratches from their nails on my arms and thighs
or ripped/pulled my clothing. I'm actually very lucky never to have been bitten.
.
I am so fucking fed up of avoiding piles of dog shit - on some of the routes I run or walk I can count up to a dozen piles just left on the path.

I am so fucking fed up of my neighbour's dogs barking. I can't complain as they are the kind of people who will make my life hell but on the regular occasions they are out they bark CONSTANTLY. Sometimes all night long.

I am fed up of having to pass a neighbour's house where they let their dog shit in the front garden and don't clear out for days and days. I walk past daily and it stinks to high heaven.

I am fucking fed up of dogs in cafes, pubs and restaurants. I, like many people are allergic and it leaves me sneezing for hours and hours. One pub we were in you literally had to clamber over 6 dogs to get to the bar.

Now today on here there are loads of people saying they think it's ok to put their dog shit in someone else's bin.

This is even without the terrible dog attacks that happen.

I know this will rile entitled dog owners but seriously has anyone else just fucking had enough?

(Ps my current username came from a thread where a poster's dinner of cottage pie had been given to the dog where everyone piled on to say dogs can't eat onions. I don't have a dog 🤣)

@Cowpad

I got knocked over by a fucking jogger the other day.
Of course you did.

@hotmeatymilk

I do think growing up in a household with happy, well-looked after dogs can be really beneficial to children's well being. They learn they don't always come first, dog needs feeding and walking as a priority. They can learn empathy. They probably less likely to grow up with the hysterical attitude of some on here. Biscuit
Maybe. Until they get a dog of their own, train it properly, pick up its poo and then their dog gets hassled by somebody else's untrained and out of control dog.

Also I imagine having a dog is a bit like having a child - you like your own, but you don't necessarily like anyone else's!

Trixiefirecracker · 20/11/2021 20:46

It’s mostly farmers though, that are injured from cows, not the general public as much. Although often cows attack while you have a dog with you, they also don’t like dogs. 😉

BlueTouchPaper · 20/11/2021 22:00

According to national statistics, cows are the most dangerous animal in the uk. You ok dog haters?

We can all easily avoid cows. Dogs are fucking everywhere.
I've never tripped over a fucking cow's long lead in the middle of a shopping centre. Whereas, I have sprained an ankle in St Ives when I tripped over a lead when the owner was on one side of the street, and the dog on the other.

Oh. Very funny. Woman trips over dog lead. That was so funny to the bloke on the other end of the lead. Laughed his hat off. I should have been looking where I was going. Should have noticed the tripwire across the street.

That's what makes me fucking hate dogs and their owners.
Well. Actually not dogs. Just their idiot owners.

Amazingblossoms · 21/11/2021 20:31

Another half a dozen furry fuckers off lead dashing across the path on my walk today.

Only one owner had the decency to put theirs on a lead when they saw other people.

They were all young looking dogs off lead so am assuming selfish lockdown puppies owned by people with no sense of responsibility.

whataboutbob · 21/11/2021 21:28

I was walking along the other day and a dog bounded up to me to sniff my rear, his owner just said “ heel” and he turned round and trotted off back to her. I was impressed.

PopularPlanet · 21/11/2021 21:57

Where do you live??

I'd rather someone put their dog shit in my bin than leave it in a tree. I'm not sitting in my bin for fun, surrounded by the smell of shit.

Dogs are awesome. Fucking joggers on the other hand.., the other day I saw a mum jogging with her daughter (about 8 yo). Daughter fell over, the mum was so oblivious she totally missed her daughter on the ground crying and even crossed a road before she realised no child was there. Therefore I hate all joggers! Seems reasonable!

Ylvamoon · 21/11/2021 22:19

HKI83vcWA · 21/11/2021 22:34

Haven’t RTFT but I agree with you OP. And I have a dog (a 40kg lab who has been meticulously trained to know that he is bottom of the pile - outranked by all humans especially children - and must behave properly, as he could easily knock someone over even though he hasn’t a mean bone in his body). I think part of the problem is dog owners attributing human attributes to dogs, and treating them like humans. So now dogs are welcome in restaurants as well as pubs (pubs in the countryside I get, restaurants and cafes in London I don’t), they sleep on beds made for humans and nap on sofas, people dress them up in outfits for Halloween/Christmas/etc and people buy dog chocolate and ice cream. Don’t get me started on people with small yappy dogs on those extending leads which they seem to never bother to retract because I guess they think we all want to greet their snappy dogs and/or trip over them. I hate it and I tend to cross the road now with my dog on a tight leash (as always!) in tow. I could go on. I have overheard people trying to verbally reason with their puppy/dog in the middle of the pavement (“oh don’t you want to go home Tiddles? Shall we stay a little longer then?”). It’s utterly ridiculous. They are fecking dogs FFS. They respond well to authority. It’s how and why we domesticated them in the first place. They are more than happy asleep on the floor by our feet. They don’t need to come to restaurants- how boring it must be when they’d rather be chasing a ball. In short it’s not the dogs that are the problem it’s these completely mad people who have lost all sense of what is appropriate. To be honest I’m more of a cat person anyway (luckily have one of them too). Now cats on the other hand are top of the pile and don’t they just know it!

Rolypolyfishheads · 21/11/2021 22:57

OP I can't even tell you how much I can relate to everything you have said here. Someone who feels the same way as me at last 🤣

CouncilHousedAndViolentBaby · 21/11/2021 23:37

Yes I bloody hate dogs terrified of the things

ThousandsOfTulips · 22/11/2021 01:12

Why has there been a series of delusional posters equating dogs to children. So bloody weird that an adult would be unable to understand why one is prioritised over the other.

ThousandsOfTulips · 22/11/2021 01:17

Agree with you, OP. And what baffles me is how thin-skinned doggy people are - if you say you don't like like dogs, they look at you in horror as though you've just confessed to a horrendous crime. And then they judge you. Yet somehow, it's completely socially acceptable for the same people to say that they hate cats. I love cats, btw.

Kikkomam · 22/11/2021 08:05

It's probably pity rather than horror, tbh, or would be from me anyway.
Trixiefirecracker · 22/11/2021 08:28

Just glanced out of my window to see a dog wandering round my garden taking a shit! Worse than that it chased my chickens and scared them senseless. Went out to look for owner and he’s happily trundling up the road oblivious. Obviously no idea what his animal is doing or where it’s shitting or that they should be on a lead on roads.

Kikkomam · 22/11/2021 08:40

Dog proof your garden maybe?

Kikkomam · 22/11/2021 08:41

(it's not against the law to walk your dog off lead on a road BTW)

Trixiefirecracker · 22/11/2021 08:53

@Kikkomam it is…
Under the Road Traffic Act 1988 it is a criminal offence for a dog to be on a designated road (ie. a public road) without being held on a lead. There are exceptions for dogs proved to be kept for driving or tending sheep or cattle in the course of a trade or business; and dogs proved to have been at the material time in use under proper control for sporting purposes.

Trixiefirecracker · 22/11/2021 08:56

Why should i ‘dog proof’ my own garden? It already has gates and a wall around it. Why shouldn’t the onus be on the owner take care of his bloody animal? This is what I mean by entitled owners and the fact you this this is okay makes me think you are one of them. You seem to have no clue about dogs or dog ownership or their impact, judging by your previous posts, and are completely in denial that some people are just shit at owning dogs.

Darkpheonix · 22/11/2021 09:18

You don't have to dog proof your garden. However, if dogs are bothering your chickens it would be the responsible thing for you to do, as the owner of the chickens.

When we had chickens we had to cat proof the area they were in. Its perhaps not fair or your responsibility. But it's best for the chickens.

That said @Kikkomam you are really being ridiculous imo and the type of dog owner that pisses people off.

I have dogs. I love dogs. The world doesn't have to accommodate me and my dogs.

Bothering, hurting, disturbing, scaring other people is anti social behaviour. It's not all of a sudden ok, because people do this with dogs.

Kikkomam · 22/11/2021 09:19

How did it get in then?
Trixiefirecracker · 22/11/2021 09:25

It jumped over the gate I imagine. We have had chickens for years, they just run about our garden and are certainly not bothered by cats. The onus is on the owner to keep charge of his dog, especially on public highways. It could have wandered in front of a car snd caused a huge accident. However, I imagine @kikk would then say it was the driver’s fault! Absolutely bonkers snd if you don’t know you should have a dog on a lead on a road then you shouldn’t have a dog.
