Fucking dogs!

Dogscanteatonions · 17/11/2021 20:41

I am so fucking done with dogs

I am sick of being jumped all over by dogs when I'm out running. I always slow to a walk when a dog approaches, I stand still if they seem aggressive. I have lost count of how many dogs that have jumped up on me and have made me muddy, left scratches from their nails on my arms and thighs
or ripped/pulled my clothing. I'm actually very lucky never to have been bitten.
.
I am so fucking fed up of avoiding piles of dog shit - on some of the routes I run or walk I can count up to a dozen piles just left on the path.

I am so fucking fed up of my neighbour's dogs barking. I can't complain as they are the kind of people who will make my life hell but on the regular occasions they are out they bark CONSTANTLY. Sometimes all night long.

I am fed up of having to pass a neighbour's house where they let their dog shit in the front garden and don't clear out for days and days. I walk past daily and it stinks to high heaven.

I am fucking fed up of dogs in cafes, pubs and restaurants. I, like many people are allergic and it leaves me sneezing for hours and hours. One pub we were in you literally had to clamber over 6 dogs to get to the bar.

Now today on here there are loads of people saying they think it's ok to put their dog shit in someone else's bin.

This is even without the terrible dog attacks that happen.

I know this will rile entitled dog owners but seriously has anyone else just fucking had enough?

(Ps my current username came from a thread where a poster's dinner of cottage pie had been given to the dog where everyone piled on to say dogs can't eat onions. I don't have a dog 🤣)

There's just too many of them now.

As a walker/jogger all the places I used to go in the open air that were quiet are just full of dogs with their owners. I assume so many have just got them over lockdowns and got used to the outdoors.

They've got as much right as I have (and I like dogs) but they're just everywhere now.

Sayke · 19/11/2021 21:29
@Sayke I think the poster was joking.

But in all seriousness does just dogs being walked give you the rage? Even if they aren't approaching you, behaving themselves, the owner is clearly a responsible owner?
Of course not don't be daft

I said as much up thread

My dd is deaf, she got knocked over by a jogger. I still have not started a thread about idiot joggers. Although secretly I despise them.

@TotallySuper

YANBU at all. Never found yet a responsible dog owner who keeps it on a lead, has it well trained and doesn't do the breezy "oh he's harmless" whilst their 20kg pitbull looking bulldog thing has knocked my daughter to the ground. Absolutely ridiculous. The dangerous dogs list needs expanding that's for sure.
The thing that annoys me most about dogs is when you're walking down a residential street and out of nowhere from behind the gate they jump up and go beserk barking at you. How dare you walk down the street? I'll have a heart attack one of these days because it really startles me every time.
Doona · 19/11/2021 21:33

Literally reading this at a bus stop and a dog came past me on a lead and stuck its nose on my bum. Didn't hurt, but seriously, get off my bum. Have the owner a look and she looked back baffled, like, what?

I haven't been jogging since before the lockdowns tbf. I love walking mainly but between cyclists/joggers and dogwalkers everywhere seems so much more busier now. You have to have eyes in the back of your head as a walker on a narrow path.

Nyxly · 19/11/2021 21:37

@Sayke so then you knew it was roungue in cheek because nobody actually gets the rage at dogs just being walked?

Nyxly · 19/11/2021 21:37

Ffs tongue in cheek.

Peahead321 · 19/11/2021 21:40

According to national statistics, cows are the most dangerous animal in the uk. You ok dog haters?

user1471604848 · 19/11/2021 21:43

I completely agree with you OP.

Peahead321 · 19/11/2021 21:44

@Imposter1

I do think that too many people think it’s their god given right to own a dog. Like it trumps the rights of all other people. Hence why they can go in restaurants and jump up and crap On pavements.

Selfish selfish people I’m afraid.

And as for the people that argue that their dog isn’t vicious. I’m afraid your dog might well be one day. I’m fed up of people telling me well actually labradors are more likely to attack children.

The times we read about attacks on children (and adults) it’s always the same type of nasty large dogs. And I’m sad to say, same type of stupid owners. Staffies, bulldogs and Rottweilers etc. are not built to be your bestie.

Same as those who think they should breed. I take it that your post was tongue in cheek?

Oh ffs we're not talking about the same thing at all! We're talking about dogs being a nuisance.

But for what it's worth of the deaths by cows: "The majority of victims by far are farm workers, with 56 of the 74 deaths from this group, while mostly lone walkers who had dogs made up the remaining 18 who had been killed."

So if you have a dog you're more likely to be killed by a cow.

@Moonface88

People who don't like dogs are the same people who don't like roller coasters or scary movies and think black pepper is too spicy. Vanilla people. Bore off.
🎯😂
EstuaryBird · 19/11/2021 22:24

@Kikkomam

People should flick poo into the hedges and if you said you were scared I would immediately move my dog away. I'd feel sorry for you and assume walking must be very stressful.
I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me.

Yes, my walks can be stressful. But I don’t see why I should give up something that I love because people can’t be bothered to control their dogs and think it’s OK to let them jump all over me 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Maybe people should kick dog shit into hedges…but they don’t, they hang it from bushes or drop it on the path…everywhere.

I’m happy to share space with dogs as long as they don’t jump all over me….why does that seem to be too much to ask??

FreshFreesias · 20/11/2021 12:18

Wow. Never knew so many people hated dogs. What an eye opener 😨

I was completely indifferent to dogs until recently, when they started impinging on my quality of life (shit on the pavements outside my house, my bin stinking because people have put bags of shit in it, my DD being chased and knocked over in the park, dogs breaking into the playground, dogs endlessly running through and sticking their noses in our picnics during lockdown).

It’s a numbers thing. There are just too many dogs now. So really dog owners have spoiled it for themselves because I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way and is vehemently pushing back against things becoming more dog friendly whereas previously I wouldn’t have given a toss.

Yep, got accosted by three little fuckers off lead while I was on my jaunt about town today. Their idiot owners were oblivious to them zig zagging all over the path tripping people up and generally being a filthy nuisance.
MajorCarolDanvers · 20/11/2021 12:41

I'm neutral on dogs. It's their owners I can't stand. Especially the ones who expect Everyone to love dogs.

Yeah. Lots of really miserable fuckers out there. I'd rather get jumped on by a labrador who's just rolled in fox poo than have to spend 5 minutes in their company.
Amazingblossoms · 20/11/2021 14:38

@Kikkomam

Well that would be a win for me!

liveforsummer · 20/11/2021 16:12

I have a dog and love dogs but I too am fed up with poorly behaved off lead dogs. I keep mine on a lead on paths as she potentially will chase runners if they get unreasonably close when passing - which they do frequently. Sock of 'friendly' dogs bounding up when she doesn't wish to say hello to them. You'll get plenty people who claim it's practically a dogs right to be allowed to roam off lead though. Most people here will agree with you though.
P.S I remember that thread. I think I was the first to point out dogs can't have onions then it all became very 'cancel the cheque' 😆. Turned out that the cottage pie contained neither which was the most unreasonable thing about the whole thread! 😬

🤣🤣 It was a funny thread indeed and yes it was a proper cancel the cheque pile on! I've been dogscanteatonions ever since 🤣

I might make cottage pie tomorrow now. With onions.

Really? According to this thread there are 250,000 dog bites dealt with in A&E every year. Are there really more incidents caused by cows?
