Fucking dogs!

I am so fucking done with dogs

I am sick of being jumped all over by dogs when I'm out running. I always slow to a walk when a dog approaches, I stand still if they seem aggressive. I have lost count of how many dogs that have jumped up on me and have made me muddy, left scratches from their nails on my arms and thighs
or ripped/pulled my clothing. I'm actually very lucky never to have been bitten.
.
I am so fucking fed up of avoiding piles of dog shit - on some of the routes I run or walk I can count up to a dozen piles just left on the path.

I am so fucking fed up of my neighbour's dogs barking. I can't complain as they are the kind of people who will make my life hell but on the regular occasions they are out they bark CONSTANTLY. Sometimes all night long.

I am fed up of having to pass a neighbour's house where they let their dog shit in the front garden and don't clear out for days and days. I walk past daily and it stinks to high heaven.

I am fucking fed up of dogs in cafes, pubs and restaurants. I, like many people are allergic and it leaves me sneezing for hours and hours. One pub we were in you literally had to clamber over 6 dogs to get to the bar.

Now today on here there are loads of people saying they think it's ok to put their dog shit in someone else's bin.

This is even without the terrible dog attacks that happen.

I know this will rile entitled dog owners but seriously has anyone else just fucking had enough?

(Ps my current username came from a thread where a poster's dinner of cottage pie had been given to the dog where everyone piled on to say dogs can't eat onions. I don't have a dog 🤣)

Why does piss and chewing gum have to be an either or? It’s not like shag, marry, kill, you MUST pick one. We can hate both! And want to live in a world where – dare to dream with me, here – there’s no dog piss or discarded chewing gum.

Well not really, because no dog piss would mean no dogs, and that would make me very sad.

I'm always a bit Hmm at people saying they're always getting jumped on by dogs while out. Im a fell runner and have been for over a decade. Its only happened to me once, and I could have probably prevented it but the dog was obviously a pup and I wasn't bothered at all.
Happens to me roughly 50% of times I venture down a path where dogs may be out and about. I wish people would learn to control their animals. The number of times I’ve had mud splattered all over my clothes. Not mention actual scratches from their paws. It’s not okay. Some of the bigger ones are damned intimidating.

I do wonder if it’s because I have a cat? Can they smell cat on me?

Do you see dog piss an hour after it is done? The rain washes it a way. Chewing gum ends on up the pavement for years.

Exactly. 🐕

The worst thing is the number of dog owners that don’t even apologise after one’s jumped you. Happened to me a few days back. I was sitting on a bench in a walking area with my husband. Two enormous dogs bounds up, one jumps at me (just playing, I’m sure), owner calls dog off but doesn’t apologise, in fact looks annoyed when I stay silent rather than saying “it’s okay, aww isn’t he/she cute”. Like fuck that.

Yes, nearly tripped over one little bugger the other day and the stupid couple 'walking' it just cooed as though it was fucking adorable.

They were a bit surprised when I didn't coo back and just glared at the little rat instead

BlueTouchPaper · 18/11/2021 19:49

Venn diagram of dog defenders and people who use the faintly hysterical 🤣 emoji is a circle

I clocked that too!!
Found it mildly amusing as well.

But dogs (all other animals) are always going to exist so piss is something that is never going away. People discarding chewing gum? That's just a prick

Just because it doesn't happen to you doesn't meant anything.. I'm in a lot of running groups on social media and it's a problem. I personally have been running for getting on for 30 years and there have been countless occasions. I don't even run in my closest woods due to loose dogs and on our local FB page people are always complaining about this.

It doesn’t matter if you run and get jumped on, apparently (according to the mad dog brigade) you have to put up with it or choose to run elsewhere ( where there are no dogs🧐) or not run at all. Same with wild swimming, I have to suck it up and let rampant badly behaved dogs swim where they want to because they are much more important than us mere mortals.

I'm always a bit hmm at people saying they're always getting groped by men while out. Im a woman and have been clubbing for over a decade. Its only happened to me once, and I could have probably prevented it but the man was obviously a pervert and I wasn't bothered at all

.....just because YOU haven't experienced it, doesn't mean people are lying!

Worstyear2020 · 18/11/2021 20:10

I am thankful I love dogs, I can imagine the stress if you don't!

vickyp0llard · 18/11/2021 20:12

Also the looks you get if you back away from someone's dog and tell them you don't like dogs - they look at you like you're evil. I have to tolerate and accept dogs, but people aren't willing to tolerate and accept my opinion.

carbon60 · 18/11/2021 20:16

I take it you fucking hate fucking dogs and their fucking owners OP?
Maybe it's not them that have the fucking problem :-)
calm down

Kikkomam · 18/11/2021 20:22

Judging purely by this thread, liking dogs means you have a sense of humour, don't spit feathers on a daily basis and have a good old sense of perspective on the world.

The hyperbole from the dog haters is quite something.

Trixiefirecracker · 18/11/2021 20:29

Lots of dog owners saying they hate stupid entitled dog owners too, of which there are many on here it would seem.

Please state an example of the "entitled dog owners" I have not seen a single one.

I think what riles me more than anything is dog owners who expect you to adore their dogs as much as them. Some people just don't want a dog near them no matter how 'friendly' they are. I agree about the dog crap too its absolutely disgusting. Piss is one thing they need to go you can't clear it iits just one of those things but dog crap there is no excuse for it.
Saying this I go out regularly where dogs are running free and I have to say alot of owners seem conscious and decent. Calling their dog back, extended lead and picking up poo. So there is responsible decent dog owners just alot of crap ones too unfortunately.

BurntO · 18/11/2021 21:06

It could be? Or sometimes dogs are especially attracted to people who give off vibes that they're wary of them. Like, they want to make you like them.
