Fucking dogs!

I am so fucking done with dogs

I am sick of being jumped all over by dogs when I'm out running. I always slow to a walk when a dog approaches, I stand still if they seem aggressive. I have lost count of how many dogs that have jumped up on me and have made me muddy, left scratches from their nails on my arms and thighs
or ripped/pulled my clothing. I'm actually very lucky never to have been bitten.
.
I am so fucking fed up of avoiding piles of dog shit - on some of the routes I run or walk I can count up to a dozen piles just left on the path.

I am so fucking fed up of my neighbour's dogs barking. I can't complain as they are the kind of people who will make my life hell but on the regular occasions they are out they bark CONSTANTLY. Sometimes all night long.

I am fed up of having to pass a neighbour's house where they let their dog shit in the front garden and don't clear out for days and days. I walk past daily and it stinks to high heaven.

I am fucking fed up of dogs in cafes, pubs and restaurants. I, like many people are allergic and it leaves me sneezing for hours and hours. One pub we were in you literally had to clamber over 6 dogs to get to the bar.

Now today on here there are loads of people saying they think it's ok to put their dog shit in someone else's bin.

This is even without the terrible dog attacks that happen.

I know this will rile entitled dog owners but seriously has anyone else just fucking had enough?

(Ps my current username came from a thread where a poster's dinner of cottage pie had been given to the dog where everyone piled on to say dogs can't eat onions. I don't have a dog 🤣)

A dog came up to me in the pub a couple of weeks ago and stuck his head in my lap and did a big wag. It was lovely. Big friendly woofer.

Sayke · 18/11/2021 18:57

@XenoBitch
Yeah, that's gross but not as gross as dogs piss

Nyxly · 18/11/2021 18:57

I mean why wouldn't you sit at a table outside a cafe if you think the tables are covered in piss.

The point is the piss concerned poster, asked another poster if they washed down where their dog pisses. That poster, as far as I can see never said their dog pisses on table legs, lamposts, pavements, market stalls or doorways. So entirely irrelevant to wether that posts washes her dogs piss away.

My dogs dont do any if that, because we don't take them into town, to busy places, pubs or cafes and neither would pee on a pavement. Neither cock their legs either. So pissing on a lampost is pretty difficult.

Not sure why someone, who doesn't know much about dogs would assume all dogs do any of this

tigerpants800 · 18/11/2021 18:58

Yep. I completely agree. Something needs to be done. Many a run has been ruined by non-trained dogs.

Well, nothing is going to be done, but you can always moan and whinge on here. I have run for years, past hundreds of dogs and never been chased. Obviously mumsnetters are very unlucky in that respect

Dogs piss is on the floor. A nappy is on the table, where people actually eat.

I wouldn't worry, dogs only live 10 odd years and this fad will have come and gone by then.

And no doubt quite a few will end up in shelters before that so that will thin out the population to a sensible level again.

Kikkomam · 18/11/2021 19:02

perhaps it's quite good for you

QuiteQuaint · 18/11/2021 19:04

Ok, what's worse than piss?

Dirty nappies, used tampons, condoms, human piss, human shit, spit, snot from men holding one nostril and blowing it out, needles. 🤮🤮🤮 Inner city life. We are now spoiled living in the countryside with only animals to soil our surroundings. Humans are vile!

Kikkomam · 18/11/2021 19:04

There's piss everywhere in the countryside. An owl shat on my car on Monday.

But not the poster you asked if she washed the dogs piss away? Or did I miss that? Did that poster retell stories of how her dog pisses 3ft up lamposts or on cafe tables....or doorways.

So entirely irrelevant. You were just trying to prove that people's dogs, will always cause you a problem even if you never see them.

Years ago, a pterodactyl shat on my car. Obviously not an actual pterodactyl, but it bloody looked like it. Maybe I should have been calling for a cull of all seagulls etc

Surely not, because all the dog defenders in this thread have said their dogs mind their own business in cafes and never bother anyone. Must have been a stray fox or one of the pissing owls that’s recently flown into the thread.

Bit of an own goal wasn't it?

I don't think I said mine don't bother people in pubs? If by bothering you mean dogs being friendly to people who like dogs, which has probably happened more times than I can remember.
Nyxly · 18/11/2021 19:22

All the dog defenders don't believe dogs should be in pubs and cafes. Or take their dogs in cafes and pubs.

But also, because someone tells a story about dog that did approach them, doesn't mean that anyone who says their dog doesn't approach anyone, is lying, does it?

Thats like saying because someone saw a baby with a shitty nappy being changed on a cafe table, means all parents must do that

hotmeatymilk · 18/11/2021 19:22

@Sayke They’re running in circles chasing their own tails now.

As long as they don't cock their legs we should be safe...

stingofthebutterfly · 18/11/2021 19:25

I agree. I have to walk through the park to get my child to school and there are loads of dogs off their leads, shit everywhere, coming up to me and my small child who doesn't like it. So many with poor recall and their owners telling me 'oh, they're just playing'. I hate it. I nearly stepped on a horrible little yappy thing the other day because it chose to dart in front of me whilst it was going crazy on its lead trying to get to another dog. It's totally unacceptable, entitled behaviour.

Lizzy1980 · 18/11/2021 19:26

@BuckyBarnesArm

It won't rile "entitled" dog owners but it might rile responsible dog owners who see a ranty, goady post making hyperbolic sweeping statements to provoke an argument response

These daily runs of yours sound terribly dramatic. May I ask where you live so that I can avoid it please??? Mountains of dog poo to navigate, packs of blood thirsty hounds at every turn etc etc. You poor thing, having to contend with all that every time you leave your house.

Yes it sounds like the war torn streets of Syria full of stray dogs
AllThingsServeTheBeam · 18/11/2021 19:32

Personally I'd prefer piss to someone's chewed up chewing gum that gets shoved everywhere
