Fucking dogs!

I am so fucking done with dogs

I am sick of being jumped all over by dogs when I'm out running. I always slow to a walk when a dog approaches, I stand still if they seem aggressive. I have lost count of how many dogs that have jumped up on me and have made me muddy, left scratches from their nails on my arms and thighs
or ripped/pulled my clothing. I'm actually very lucky never to have been bitten.
.
I am so fucking fed up of avoiding piles of dog shit - on some of the routes I run or walk I can count up to a dozen piles just left on the path.

I am so fucking fed up of my neighbour's dogs barking. I can't complain as they are the kind of people who will make my life hell but on the regular occasions they are out they bark CONSTANTLY. Sometimes all night long.

I am fed up of having to pass a neighbour's house where they let their dog shit in the front garden and don't clear out for days and days. I walk past daily and it stinks to high heaven.

I am fucking fed up of dogs in cafes, pubs and restaurants. I, like many people are allergic and it leaves me sneezing for hours and hours. One pub we were in you literally had to clamber over 6 dogs to get to the bar.

Now today on here there are loads of people saying they think it's ok to put their dog shit in someone else's bin.

This is even without the terrible dog attacks that happen.

I know this will rile entitled dog owners but seriously has anyone else just fucking had enough?

(Ps my current username came from a thread where a poster's dinner of cottage pie had been given to the dog where everyone piled on to say dogs can't eat onions. I don't have a dog 🤣)

Ah - would've loved to have seen that. Why do dog owners think they're not accountable?

I once considered getting a deckchair and sitting out in my front garden to try and catch the bastard who allowed their dog to deposit ginger turds right in the middle of my driveway every day. My father once walked it into my house and was so upset at the sight of me retching whilst scrubbing the floor, it made him cry and I'd never seen him cry before.

But I'm far too busy and important for lounging in deck chairs - I got CCTV and caught them in the act then posted on our local Facebook group. The fantastic dog owner was named. Funnily enough it stopped after that.

Your dog is obviously untrained. Responsible dog owners hate untrained dogs and their owners because it gives them a bad name.
Dog owners are actually expected to pick their dogs piss up? Really?

amsadandconfused · 17/11/2021 23:29

@NanaPorsche…very easy to avoid dogs ..woods ,fields ,lanes ..it really isn’t that hard !

It's live and let live regarding dogs, but I can't understand owners who let their dogs sit on their sofas and chairs. How can they allow this when members of their household also sit on the sofas? Don't they know where dogs have been? Urgghh !!!

I live alone, and my dog lies on the sofa with me. My house, my rules.

MancMum2000 · 17/11/2021 23:34

Dogs are great. It’s humans I’ve had enough of.

I know exactly where my dog has been? Why where do you think dogs go that is so hideous?!

I have not visited Scarborough for years, but going back to 1996, they had a no dogs policy on Scarborough beach, much cleaner than Blackpool.
Mmmm - a lot of beaches we frequently go to have dogs all year round. A smaller proportion ban them April to October.

It was in Scarborough that my grandson needed hospital treatment after being knocked over by a dog on the promenade. He had puncture wounds above and below his eye and a scratch almost the full length of his body. He was fourteen months old. He's 22 months old now and he's terrified of dogs.

Am in bed snuggling up to my lovely doggie now …definitely not a problem for me or my family!

Whaaaaaat?

That's where it's most prevalent 🤔

Tealightsandd · 17/11/2021 23:37

It's not as if it's only dogs leaving shit around. I mean, half our rivers and seas are full of human shit.

And the last two summers MN was flooded with posts talking about tourists and daytrippers leaving shit filled nappies on beaches (instead of taking them away with them). I'm even sure I remember some reports of adult/older child shitting in public places too (and I'm not talking about homeless people who don't have access to loos).

With 'bad' dog behaviour, it's the human owners, not the dogs.

DerAlteMann · 17/11/2021 23:41

Any dog owner who leaves their dog alone for more than 10 minutes isn't a fit person to own one.

Oh aye - millions of people going down to the rivers and the sea every day for a crap. Does this also include ponds and lakes? 😬

Not a good analogy.

Whilst I have seen the occasional human poop, with sock, in doorways over the years I can safely say the vast majority of shite which you see on a daily basis belongs to dogs.

Mydogmylife · 17/11/2021 23:45

@Olddognewtrick

Now imagine if I let my kids jump on people and told them: “they’re only little and want to play!”

I have a cute dog. This apparently translates into him being some sort of toy for children to pet. He’s actually really scared of children, and it’s shocking how shit some parents are. Today a man was encouraging his toddler to “go and see the doggy” while my daughter walked away with the dog saying, no please don’t, he doesn’t like children. The other day my other daughter was walking him and was chased along a pavement by a main road by a 3 year old.

I give these examples just to add to the argument that it’s people who are the fucking arseholes. Not small children or dogs who have never been taught any differently. Everything you describe is really, really annoying, but totally avoidable if humans could just be a bit bloody better.

Relate to this - our dog is small, fluffy and looks very like a wee teddy bear - cue loads of small children rushing at him trying to cuddle and squeeze him etc. He's very well behaved, never growled , just stands very still and tolerates it but I know whose fault it would be if he did snap!
WinterRoses2021 · 17/11/2021 23:46

Don't you know that dogs can be trained to 'evacuate' on command? Or are you an irresponsible dog owner who can't be bothered?

Normally only service dogs are trained for this and actually I choose not to go down that route. How would YOU like to be told when you can shit on demand?

NanaPorsche · 17/11/2021 23:46

@DerAlteMann

Yes - why do responsible dog owners keep an animal in their home and then leave them alone all day? Howling.

Doesn't make any sense.

10 minutes? That is batshit,

My dog doesn't howl when he's left. He sleeps just like he does when I am in

So if it's possible for service dogs to shit on command why can't every other dog do it? It's easy to train dogs to do this.

Look up Barbara Woodhouse - she trained dogs to do this all the time.

My mum managed to train her mongrel - why can't other responsible dog owners train?

I find them no more annoying than children.
