Fucking dogs!

Dogscanteatonions · 17/11/2021 20:41

I am so fucking done with dogs

I am sick of being jumped all over by dogs when I'm out running. I always slow to a walk when a dog approaches, I stand still if they seem aggressive. I have lost count of how many dogs that have jumped up on me and have made me muddy, left scratches from their nails on my arms and thighs
or ripped/pulled my clothing. I'm actually very lucky never to have been bitten.
.
I am so fucking fed up of avoiding piles of dog shit - on some of the routes I run or walk I can count up to a dozen piles just left on the path.

I am so fucking fed up of my neighbour's dogs barking. I can't complain as they are the kind of people who will make my life hell but on the regular occasions they are out they bark CONSTANTLY. Sometimes all night long.

I am fed up of having to pass a neighbour's house where they let their dog shit in the front garden and don't clear out for days and days. I walk past daily and it stinks to high heaven.

I am fucking fed up of dogs in cafes, pubs and restaurants. I, like many people are allergic and it leaves me sneezing for hours and hours. One pub we were in you literally had to clamber over 6 dogs to get to the bar.

Now today on here there are loads of people saying they think it's ok to put their dog shit in someone else's bin.

This is even without the terrible dog attacks that happen.

I know this will rile entitled dog owners but seriously has anyone else just fucking had enough?

(Ps my current username came from a thread where a poster's dinner of cottage pie had been given to the dog where everyone piled on to say dogs can't eat onions. I don't have a dog 🤣)

Its the dog-owners that think that everybody loves their off-lead excitable dogs as much as they do that I find annoying. If your dog doesnt have a decent recall then ffs keep it on the lead !

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 17/11/2021 23:05

@Ticksallboxes

All my life I've loved dogs, but we live in an apartment that doesn't allow them.

However, we look over a park and over the last five years I wake up to see, in my first hour, about ten dogs pooing in front of where we live.

It's really put me off them now unfortunately as whenever I see a really lovely looking dog I just think how long until its next sh*t!

A lot of those dogs also look really humiliated pooing in public, which makes me wonder if they would actually rather be tactfully led over to secluded bushes to do it - why don't dog owners do this?

Did you not realise dogs needed to shit just like you?

My dog goes off lead so takes himself to the undergrowth to shit which is always fun to pick up

Summerfun54321 · 17/11/2021 23:06

If I never saw a dog or a dog shit on the street ever again I’d be happy with that.

kikipie · 17/11/2021 23:07

All the dog hate on here is so fucking tedious and repetitive and predictable Hmm

Same on every thread about dogs unless it's on the doghouse and they even sometimes get hijacked! (Same with cats)
NanaPorsche · 17/11/2021 23:12

Don't you know that dogs can be trained to 'evacuate' on command? Or are you an irresponsible dog owner who can't be bothered?

Lots of lovely responsible dog owners on here who can't stand the irresponsible dog owners who can't train their dogs.

You're either responsible or not. I just hate lying awake worrying about irresponsible dog owners and their poor mistreated dogs. Not.

Judging by the amount of shite about there's far more irresponsible dog owners.

Not a good analogy with public loos - people are trained to use them therefore they don't shit on the pavement. I'm sure you'd be the first to complain if you had to dodge hundreds of human turds every day.

amsadandconfused · 17/11/2021 23:13

If you hate dogs so much why do you walk and run where they are likely to be 🤔

RockNRollMartian · 17/11/2021 23:13

You don't have to like dogs, but I think you're unfair in lumping them all together. A well-behaved dog or a dog that's kept well away from others isn't a problem. Owners who have dangerous dogs, don't clean up after their dogs, or don't keep their dogs on leads (for the dog's sake as much as anyone else's) are the problem.

I love my dogs, and I don't care if some people hate them. They still mean more to me than most of the people in the world, tbh!

I don't like bratty kids, but I have the sense to not act as though every child is a spoilt brat. Some are brats, and often it's the parents' fault, but most are okay, some are perfectly lovely, and I know that even the brats mean the world to someone, just as my dogs do to me. (I don't refer to them as 'fur babies', though; that's just embarrassing.)

Right, so anyone who does not have a dog that can shite on command is an irresponsible dog owner? Why is it not good enough to bag it, like all responsible dog owners do? I wonder if you were the lady who chased me down with a tirade of abuse telling me to pick my dog's piss up.

That would be absolutely fantastic - do you happen to have a map of all the places dogs don't go?

Cos they're everywhere I go.

StoneofDestiny · 17/11/2021 23:18

Guide or Assistance Dogs do jump up all over you, bark endlessly or shift all over the pavements. The standard these dogs are trained to is not the standard the average dog is trained to

Oops......I meant don't (not do) sorry

CallMeK · 17/11/2021 23:18

I am never, ever getting a dog!!!!

Mydogmylife · 17/11/2021 23:18

@BuckyBarnesArm

It won't rile "entitled" dog owners but it might rile responsible dog owners who see a ranty, goady post making hyperbolic sweeping statements to provoke an argument response
Bit late to party but absolutely this!!!!!

I don't keep my dog on a lead. He'd have a hard time fetching his ball otherwise
amsadandconfused · 17/11/2021 23:19
@Thinking2041 is this a serious post? You think dogs should wear nappies or visit doggy toilets? You are batshit crazy.

What about all of the other birds and wild animals shitting on pavements/grass? What about humans who spit chewing gum and phlegm onto them?

Some people are utterly bizarre.
At least my dog doesn’t shit on our pathway…the pigeons shit everywhere…absolutely hate them …vermin with wings!!

mildredhubble48 · 17/11/2021 23:20

I find these threads incredibly joyless and bitter. On the recent cat bashing one a poster admitted to sitting and watching a cat dig up her flowers and shit there several times. Imagine just sitting there watching then taking to MN to bitch about it instead of just shooing the cat away. What a sad life.

Have to admit I've never yet seen anyone suggest dog nappies, shitting on demand and doggy toileting facilities though. That's a whole new level of crazy.

The lack of tolerance is just depressing. Sure, you don't have to like them that's your choice but it's very short sighted to label all dogs the same.

mildredhubble48 · 17/11/2021 23:21

@amsadandconfused better get out there and clean it up, a toddler might want to eat their dinner off that pavement Grin

Really? 😆

BleuJay · 17/11/2021 23:22

OP’s ideal dog -

Doesn’t jump up.
Doesn’t crap.
Doesn’t bark.
Doesn’t shed much.
Doesn’t lick or bite.

KateofGhent · 17/11/2021 23:22

@NanaPorsche

I have not visited Scarborough for years, but going back to 1996, they had a no dogs policy on Scarborough beach, much cleaner than Blackpool.

PixieLaLa · 17/11/2021 23:24

Just carry on running then, slowing down or stopping would be confusing to a dog and they probably think you want to say hello.

Trixiefirecracker · 17/11/2021 23:26

@Mydogmylife totally the opposite though, lots of calm responsible dog owners can see there are a lot of bad dog owners out there and there is a problem with badly behaved dogs. I think it’s the entitled ones who get up in arms about anything negative surrounding dogs.

Tealightsandd · 17/11/2021 23:27

the pigeons shit everywhere…absolutely hate them …vermin with wings!!

Actually they're not vermin. They're dinosaurs. Well sort of. And they're very kind and intelligent.

PP are right. It's not bad dogs. It's bad human owners.

NanaPorsche · 17/11/2021 23:27

@XenoBitch

Ah - would've loved to have seen that. Why do dog owners think they're not accountable?

I once considered getting a deckchair and sitting out in my front garden to try and catch the bastard who allowed their dog to deposit ginger turds right in the middle of my driveway every day. My father once walked it into my house and was so upset at the sight of me retching whilst scrubbing the floor, it made him cry and I'd never seen him cry before.

But I'm far too busy and important for lounging in deck chairs - I got CCTV and caught them in the act then posted on our local Facebook group. The fantastic dog owner was named. Funnily enough it stopped after that.

Your dog is obviously untrained. Responsible dog owners hate untrained dogs and their owners because it gives them a bad name.

mynamechangemyrules · 17/11/2021 23:27

@SimpsonsXmasBoogie

I adore dogs, and cats. I just can't stand people who don't take responsibility for their own pets. They fuck it up for everyone else and turn their pets into a huge problem for the rest of the world, when they really don't need to be. It's all very sad.
It's this! Exactly! I was desperate to get a dog as soon as I moved back to the U.K., but then I've seen how weird it is with people not following any normal social guidelines with them anymore and I'm working out what the expectations are here. People walk their dogs on the playing fields here and let them poo and wee all over it and then little kids go to play rugby etc there and... I think I've been away too long, but that's odd that no one gives a shit (haha) about it. I always walked my dogs across roads and fields etc not kids parks and they tended to go in the same places each time (inconvenient rough grass where you'd have to hunt the poo), so how has it moved to dogs crapping in the middle of football pitches with kids practising around and everyone goes 'aahhh cute dog! Lockdown puppy?!' Hmm Also- do not get me started on the 'it's ok he's friendly' shit. I don't care if he's friendly, I don't want him jumping on me.
