How long have you been on MN?

And what brought you here? My youngest has just turned 10 which reminded me I found MN when heavily pregnant as suffering agonising SPD with him. I was directed to the Bounty forums by my midwife, then NM was mentioned on there and MN on there. So it was a chain reaction that led me here!
I’m glad it did, I’ve found it a useful hive of information but I can’t believe i’m still here 10 years later Grin

13 years, under various guises. I came on here asking whether to get married. I think the answer was be careful. I did marry him, it turned out great (so far...)

Chompiemompie · 14/11/2021 22:45

15 years!

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 14/11/2021 22:46

I'd say about 2006 on and off with lots of name changes

@CruellaDeVilla Sorry to be naïve but what is anti-CLB pls?

Avarua · 14/11/2021 22:47

I used Gina Ford with my babies and it bloody worked! They're all great sleepers as a result of her eating/feeding routines and we had a really structured, pleasant time with them as babies and toddlers because none of us were particularly sleep deprived or hungry.

DontTellThemYourNamePike · 14/11/2021 22:48

About 15 years. From when I was TTC my first baby.

Helpstopthepain · 14/11/2021 22:50

@Almostmenopausal contented little baby.

Laiste · 14/11/2021 22:56

13 years. 3 name changes.

I remember clearly googling something and a link popped up for a thread running on Mumsnet AIBU about taking a pair of trousers back to M&S. I clicked on it, it was an amusing bunfight, and i was hooked Grin

Mixitupalot · 14/11/2021 22:59

Since 2004 i was heavily pregnant and searching for names.

@Fordian yes, I remember that well! Gosh it was a strange old time.

WorraLiberty · 14/11/2021 23:02

Coming up to 11 years.

Someone on another website posted a link to AIBU to show how batshit they thought MNetters were Grin

I immediately found my people

PermanentTemporary · 14/11/2021 23:03
  1. I bought the Mumsnet guide to babies when I was pregnant with ds and came here when I was struggling with feeding. Few name changes. The odd flounce. A lot of life changes. It's odd looking back.
megletthesecond · 14/11/2021 23:05

14yrs.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 14/11/2021 23:06

13 years I think. Maybe 12. I lurked before that but wasn't brave enough to join. Eventually something propelled me into it and I was promptly and correctly told off for the advice I'd given. I took that on the chin and am still here after many name changes.

JunoMcDuff · 14/11/2021 23:06

7 years as a regular but I dipped in and out for a couple of years before that.

namechanged221 · 14/11/2021 23:07

2009... around the time of the mouldies debacle and 'she who must not be named'

I have name-changed many times.

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 14/11/2021 23:13

since I’ve been here I’ve never looked at specific parenting topics and hardly ever open any thread to do with kids!

I think, until I looked at MN, I had some vague notion that it would be full of people gushing over their children or discussing in minute detail what brand of nappies to buy.

Which, with hindsight, was very dim of me - the parents I know IRL, of course, chat about the same general random stuff that I do. Blush

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 14/11/2021 23:20

2010 just after the birth of DS

Googled lochia and found you lot 😀

Davros · 15/11/2021 00:11

2003, same name throughout. Do I get 🏆 🏅?

foxgoosefinch · 15/11/2021 00:14

Off and on since around 2012.

BlackeyedSusan · 15/11/2021 00:18

12 years or so.

MissConductUS · 15/11/2021 00:23

About four years. I'm a Yank, so I wasn't aware of it until I read a brief article about it in The Economist

I've always been interested in British culture and DH lived in London before we met, so I was curious to learn more. I really hope we can visit the UK at some point.

StarCourt · 15/11/2021 00:32

7 years. Wish I'd found it much earlier

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/11/2021 00:54

About 10 years, can't remember why or how.

But liked the swearing and wit and sharing of knowledge.

Two threads that really hooked me were MrsDeVere's NDN's gymbalow and SarahStratton's raven in her dining room Gin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/11/2021 00:55

Oops! Meant Grin but let's have Gin too, courtesy of Zombie.
