Obviously I don't care how he gets treated but do you think other prisoners are going to give him a tough time especially since he's ex police and especially since what he did?

OP posts:
SpeakingFranglais · 01/10/2021 14:07

It said in the Times today he’s likely to end of in Wakefield in solitary. Not surprised, we have all the worst nutters incarcerated in West Yorkshire.

It also said he had head injuries when in police custody from ramming his head into the cell walls.

The rest of his life will be lived out in fear, pain and misery.

Ironic that.

00100001 · 01/10/2021 14:07
@00100001 cruel and inhuman. 2 words I would use to describe this person.

They are in prison for a reason.
Becasue they are a danger to society.

not because they aren't human beings with rights and feelings.

Whether you think you're right or not, there's a reason we don't use solitary confinement long term... because it's a fucking abomination.

1Endeavour2 · 01/10/2021 14:07

I'd put my money on him suddenly discovering he's a woman.

DownToTheSeaAgain · 01/10/2021 14:07

It is my understanding that in the UK the deprivation of liberty (in this case forever) is the punishment and not the conditions of that deprivation.

I hope that enough is done to rehabilitate him so that he leads a full life within the parameters of his confinement. I suspect that this won't happen and that is a sign of the fundamental unfit for purpose-ness of our prisons.

His crime is awful but by wishing the worse to happen to him we do nothing other than bring ourselves down to his level.

EspressoDoubleShot · 01/10/2021 14:08

There is not indefinite solitary in uk (that’s an American penal system sanction)
A measure of a humane and liberal society is how it manages dysfunction and that inc criminality. We are a humane country we have a responsibility and duty of care to prisoners

RussianSpy101 · 01/10/2021 14:09

What he did was a fucking abomination. Maybe he should’ve thought about that before he did what he did to an innocent woman. He is absolute scum and I hope the rest of his life is an absolute misery.

Raera · 01/10/2021 14:09

@HarrisMcCoo

Hoping this thread doesn't go poof like several others this morning....
And I hope that it does. The hatred on this thread is disgusting. Even worse is the suggestion that prison officers will turn a blind eye to violence or self harm. That does not happen.

Totally agree
ColdColdWinter · 01/10/2021 14:11

Well, I'm NOT glad that he will suffer in prison.

Yes, he has done a terrible thing and destroyed lives. But we already have a justice system in place to deal with people who behave like that.

If the majority of people in our society feel that simply locking someone up is insufficient punishment, we should be campaigning to change the law, so that the punishment is severe enough to be a deterrent.

Turning our backs and allowing evil law-breakers to mete out whatever vicious 'punishment' they wish to other wicked people in prison is anarchy, not a justice system fit for purpose.

And I bet all those PPs who like the idea of the cruel treatments they would give this man are the same ones who mutter 'barbaric' when they read of Sharia law and beheadings abroad. This attitude is no better.

00100001 · 01/10/2021 14:11

@YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp

I hope he rots in hell. I would have had him flogged, locked up and the key thrown away. Sentences are far too soft and evidently no deterrent to these abhorrent individuals.
oh yes, he will spend the rest of his life in prison. What a soft sentence.... Confused
RussianSpy101 · 01/10/2021 14:12

@Handsoffstrikesagain they probably feel the same. Speaking from experience, there is no death terrible enough for the pain you wish upon the person who murdered your loved one.

RussianSpy101 · 01/10/2021 14:13

@Raera I can assure you, it definitely happens.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 01/10/2021 14:13

@00100001

They won't introduce the death penalty.
 1. it isn't a deterrent
 2. Innocent people have been put to death.
No it's not a deterrent and our justice system frequently gets it wrong. And also it's very expensive. And it's uncivilized.

And it won't come back. I don't think.

But with the UK in its current state some people will start yelling about it how it's high time it was re-introduced.

TertiusLydgate · 01/10/2021 14:13

Handsoffstrikesagain

100% agree.

The lynch mob mentality on here is depressing.

I agree that he'll be on the "numbers" wing with the other sex-offenders. Other prisoners make their food, and I know that they take great delight in adding shit, semen and pubic hair into that particular wing's food.

This … isn’t ok.

I’ve checked and I’m afraid I’m fresh out of fucks to give. I could give a couple of shits if you like. Hopefully they’ll end up in his food.

Loganberry6 · 01/10/2021 14:16

@TotheletterofthelawTHELETTER

I imagine he’ll be in solitary / 24 hour watch. Which is far more than he deserves.
This.
EspressoDoubleShot · 01/10/2021 14:20

As a society we need to look at why so many prisoners are
Care leavers
mentally ill
Disproportionately from BAME background
Disproportionately from socioeconomically deprived background

We lock up too many people

IveGotASongThatllGetOnYNerves · 01/10/2021 14:21

I don't think they will much care what he did. If it was a child then yes. But I think people are naive if they think prisoners are going to be dishing out 'justice' for his crime.

If they were going to do anything then it would be because he's police. Not because of moral outrage.

Djifunrsn · 01/10/2021 14:22

A sex offender (his victims were children) went into a prison not too far from me and within 48 hours his back had been broken in an "accident with some stairs".

JaneJeffer · 01/10/2021 14:22

I can't believe anyone thinks this monster will sit contemplating what he did and being remorseful. The only person he feels sorry for is himself.

You're GENUINELY condoning feeding anther human being faeces? That's grim, take a look at yourself.

Imagine if that was your son, who was incorrectly imprisoned (which does happen) and he was knowingly being fed actual HUMAN SHIT? Would it be such a great idea then? Would you still give zero fucks?

RoseRedRoseBlue · 01/10/2021 14:24

That’s pretty disgraceful In my book.
WizardOfAus · 01/10/2021 14:25

There are too many men carrying such evil within them.

I was disgusted to read he was in a WhatsApp group with five police officers who are now being investigated for gross misconduct.

They were sharing misogynistic content of a "grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character".

What hope do women and girls have in this world where POLICE OFFICERS are doing this shit?

There needs to be a ban on extreme and violent porn.

It’s fucking men up.
