Obviously I don't care how he gets treated but do you think other prisoners are going to give him a tough time especially since he's ex police and especially since what he did?

I will probably get a warning on here and get my post deleted if I say EXACTLY what I hope happens to him. It ain't nice, trust me.

hardyloveit · 01/10/2021 13:23

@Blossomtoes instead of £85000 a year - £10 that will buy some rope or a bullet (no idea on cost) much cheaper then prison and at least we know he can't hurt anyone again

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 01/10/2021 13:24

I hate the rush to categorise other inmates as righteous purveyors of justice when high profile events like this happen. It’s grossly hypocritical.

Does anyone think they’re righteous purveyors of justice? I don’t think people are under any illusion about the type of people who will be doling out the punishment. People just don’t care that it’s going to happen to him.

Well that’s not going to happen nor would I wish to live in a society where it could. I think that would be letting him off way too lightly.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 01/10/2021 13:26

The death penalty is far from being a cheap option.

pelosi · 01/10/2021 13:26

I don't get all the people wanting to list the things they want done to him. Most likely we won't hear about it if things do happen to him.

It all seems too little too late. The biggest tragedy has already happened, a daughter and sister has been removed from her family.

How do we stop this happening to other daughters and sisters is my worry.

It costs so much more money to execute someone. It is a huge legal process that goes on for years.

hardyloveit · 01/10/2021 13:28

@worldgonecrazy. Agreed!

Oh I know technically it's not cheaper but with a cut and dry case like this he shouldn't even get to jail and appeal etc.

Plumedenom · 01/10/2021 13:31

I hope he is put in a secure wing and forgotten about while we sort out the police force, because that's the real problem.

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 01/10/2021 13:32

@Shehasadiamondinthesky

Well one things for sure he is incredibly thick! He knows what happens to nonces in prison and surely must have been aware there were CCTV cameras everywhere.
I don't think the pos is thick, possibly arrogance has crept in if he's committed other crimes and he also likely didn't bank on Sarah's friends and family creating so much early awareness about her disappearance and knowing the route she was likely taking home.

As taxpayer I dont relish funding his protected status inside, but dear god I hope he lives a long life confined in his stinking cell and unable to get away from the thoughts of what he's done and the lives he's destroyed.

Shannith · 01/10/2021 13:35

@YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp

I hope he rots in hell. I would have had him flogged, locked up and the key thrown away. Sentences are far too soft and evidently no deterrent to these abhorrent individuals.
I share your utter revulsion for the man but he is surely proof that no sentence/punishment would have deterred him.

His life will be hell and for that I am glad.

OliverBabish · 01/10/2021 13:36

Mmm, I don’t know that he will give much of a shit about what he’s done. Not really. He’ll be sad to be locked up, but I doubt he will live with the horror of what he did.

I don’t think people like him should be allowed to exist 🤷🏼‍♀️

MyPatronusIsACat · 01/10/2021 13:37

@TertiusLydgate

I was asking a senior police friend about this.

He said he will be in a separate secure wing - not solitary confinement. He is at risk of attack, but because he's a police officer more than his horrific crimes.

Let's face it - many of the other inmates are rapists and murderers.

But many of those inmates who are 'rapists' and 'murderers' weren't POLICEMEN were they? A person who people SHOULD have been able to trust, and a person who was in a powerful position.

And also, no, most prisoners are NOT rapists and murderers. Many of them are people who committed robberies, fraud, assaults etc, and various low to medium level crimes.

Some prisoners are evil murderers and rapists, but many are just people who made a few wrong choices in life, who hung around with the wrong people, and who perhaps didn't have the best start in life.

Many people on this thread clearly feel this is the case, otherwise they wouldn’t be gleefully discussing semen being placed in meals etc. There is a prison hierarchy and some still insist on hanging onto a romanticised image of the armed robber who wouldn’t consider hurting pensioners or kids, or some community minded Kray twin type scenario.
Chocolatehamper · 01/10/2021 13:38

@StellaCinnamon

Not usually an advocate of the death penalty. But in this case I’d say just put the bastard down like the animal he is.
An animal wouldn't do what he did. That mentality is purely in the human domain.
Imatwinmum · 01/10/2021 13:39

It’s a terrifying thought. Think how many women go missing in London every year, vulnerable women who don’t have a family to report them missing.

FluffyTeddyBear · 01/10/2021 13:41

I’m a very kind and empathetic person. But I hope that man suffers.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 01/10/2021 13:42

He won’t be on solitary confinement forever. There’s a legal limit. I want to say it has to be reviewed every 14 days and has a 21 day maximum, but I might be out of date, it hasn’t been relevant to me for a long time.

He can be segregated from others, if required to keep good order, but only for up to 42 days, and after that, the Secretary of State gets involved.

Prison won’t be a wonderful experience for him, but it also won’t be hell on earth, and it’s nothing compared to what Sarah went through.

EspressoDoubleShot · 01/10/2021 13:43

I see all the Death penalty ravers have turned up. How predictable

NoSauce · 01/10/2021 13:43

But he isn’t a child abuser so won’t be as low as them on the pecking order. Prisons are full of men who have raped and murdered women, he won’t be the biggest monster in his prison nor will he have committed the worst crime, and once the media has moved on his life won’t be much different to other prisoners kept on the vulnerable wing

He’s still ex police though, hopefully he will get what he deserves.

TertiusLydgate · 01/10/2021 13:44

MyPatronusIsACat, I didn't say 'most', I said 'many'.

I am aware that these inmates are unlikely to also be police officers.

My chief inspector friend said the fact Wayne Couzens was a police officer puts him at even greater risk of attack.

Lampzade · 01/10/2021 13:45

@SuperstarDog

This … isn’t ok.

I’m ok with it. I dare say most people won’t lose any sleep over it.

Exactly
Swishswish26 · 01/10/2021 13:45

@Blossomtoes yes a bullet like @nottoday3000 suggests or hanging.

EspressoDoubleShot · 01/10/2021 13:47

He won’t automatically be in solitary confinement that requires governor approval and cannot be indefinitely . Nor can he demand solitary confinement

He won’t be in hell either. He will adapt and get used to it

There with you, but I think we will sadly be in the minority.
