Obviously I don't care how he gets treated but do you think other prisoners are going to give him a tough time especially since he's ex police and especially since what he did?

Those who commit the worst crimes, if they can't be swiftly hanged or shot by firing squad, should be forced to sit in their cells under 24 hour watch with absolutely no privacy.

They should be given a number and only referred to as inmate 123456.

They should have no rights to exercise, no access to books or TV, and no means to correspond with family or weirdos who want a prison penpal. Allow them to go slowly insane as the walls close in on them and death would be a blessed release.

Lollipop444 · 01/10/2021 13:48

What does solitary confinement and 24 hour watch involve?

I presume it means in a cell on your own with someone paid to watch you? What’s the point of that? Why do they need someone watching them if they’re in a cell on their own, and I presume they take away belts, sharp objects etc.

And do they have toilets and showers in their cell or are they moved for that?

It seems such an expense, when surely just a room with a bed is adequate . Plenty of time then to dwell on what he’s done, although I feel that his sympathy lies firmly with himself not his victim.

EspressoDoubleShot · 01/10/2021 13:49

His risk is fact he was a police officer
Other inmates will get notoriety & kudos if they attack him

RussianSpy101 · 01/10/2021 13:50

He shouldn’t be in solitary. Feed him to the wolves. Even the POs will be after him so he won’t be “safe” in solitary either and he doesn’t deserve to be

Changechangychange · 01/10/2021 13:51

I suspect he’ll kill himself as well - those head injuries he sustained in custody were apparently self inflicted.

But yes otherwise, he’ll be shunned as an ex-cop, will probably have a few people taking a pop at him if they get the chance, and have a fairly boring confined existence in the VP wing aside from that.

Cailin66 · 01/10/2021 13:51

My hope is that he lives a very long time. And I'd rather not see his name ever again. I prefer to think of Sarah. And try to think that she is with the angels now.

EspressoDoubleShot · 01/10/2021 13:51

Most people in prison are care leavers and those with mental illness, majority are from poor socioeconomic backgrounds who have experienced trauma

RoseRedRoseBlue · 01/10/2021 13:52

He won’t be in solitary. It is normally reserved for punishment. He will be on a VP wing. Long term solitary, in the main, is the preserve of the American prison system.

Out of interest which wolves? The prison wolves? MoJ do they keep wolves? Stupid hyperbole
RussianSpy101 · 01/10/2021 13:54

@EspressoDoubleShot yeah they usually have a few per person. They keep them in the yard.

happydappy2 · 01/10/2021 13:54

What if he claims he identifies as a woman and requests transfer to a womens prison? He'd most likely be moved there. The current system of womens prisons being mixed sex is appalling.

Antonia2021 · 01/10/2021 13:55

Will be ever see his children again I wonder . Or has his wife (atbx presume ) withold all contact

HarrisMcCoo · 01/10/2021 13:57

Hoping this thread doesn't go poof like several others this morning....

EspressoDoubleShot · 01/10/2021 13:59
@EspressoDoubleShot yeah they usually have a few per person. They keep them in the yard.
Ahh yes the prisoner eating wolves, a few per person. So 2-3 per inmate?
Given the prison overcrowding a few wolves (3) per person = 4800 wolves in the “yard”

BakingOfTheFoodCats · 01/10/2021 13:59

Why should he see his children again, I certainly wouldn’t allow it if it was me.

RussianSpy101 · 01/10/2021 14:01

@EspressoDoubleShot no just per prison.

00100001 · 01/10/2021 14:01

Solitary confinement is cruel and shouldn't be allowed.

RussianSpy101 · 01/10/2021 14:02

@00100001 really?

That's fucking insane.

Yes, really, if we are talking about it as a long term solution.

00100001 · 01/10/2021 14:04
@00100001 really?
Yes. REALLY.

You remember how you all struggled during lockdown, not seeing people etc ?

Human being are social animals.

To lock someone up in permanent isolation - no matter their crime, is cruel and inhumane.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 01/10/2021 14:04

@EspressoDoubleShot

I see all the Death penalty ravers have turned up. How predictable
No doubt certain politicians and newspapers will be slavering at the thought of using this case to try and launch support for re-introducing the death penalty.
RussianSpy101 · 01/10/2021 14:05

@00100001 cruel and inhuman. 2 words I would use to describe this person.

They are in prison for a reason.

00100001 · 01/10/2021 14:06

They won't introduce the death penalty.

 1. it isn't a deterrent
 2. Innocent people have been put to death.
RussianSpy101 · 01/10/2021 14:06

@MissEDashwood19 completely agree
