I'm home alone today and except for whatsapping my friends have nothing to do with this incandescent rage and hopeless sadness.

Anyone else need to talk? Sad
@Pumperthepumper because its society that needs to change , why do some women cover for men , where is the solidarity there? A violent crime is not less tragic if committed by a women and there is still a victim
All murders / rapes etc are horrific yes men commit more crimes but I would say in the last few years Im starting to see more and more stories of women committing crimes or being involved
Society seems to acceot more violent behaviour , turn a blind eye etc
It takes all or at least the vast majority to change this
Fucking hell @worriedatthemoment

Words fail me. You can't be for real, surely?

Passmeamenuatthetottenham · 29/09/2021 22:44

And I'm raging all over again at those cowardly arseholes in The Met othering Couzens, washing their hands of him and making out like he was not one of them. Just fuck off.

MrsRobbieHart · 29/09/2021 22:45

In what way is a decent man, with feminist ideals, who cares about the welfare of women, responsible.

Isn’t that the very definition of taking responsibility? Being responsible? He’s choosing to be decent, have feminist ideals, care about women’s welfare. That’s what is meant by being responsible- acting in a way that improves the situation for women. That’s what we’re asking all men to do.

emmylousings · 29/09/2021 22:45

I agree the police have some culpability here; they have a poor track record on protecting vulnerable women and sometimes of hiding abuse. But we know this is also the case in other institutions like schools or the churches (all faiths). Misogyny is in our culture and our systems. No, of course most men would never commit violence against women, and they our allies in the fight against misogyny. But a misogynistic society does increase the likelihood of horrible deaths like this and many others IMO.

worriedatthemoment · 29/09/2021 22:46

@WrapAroundYourDreams why ? What have i said that isn't true ?
Do we all not have a responsibility?
I agree some men really need to step uo but im not saying women are all perfect

AnnieSnap · 29/09/2021 22:46

@Passmeamenuatthetottenham

Absolutely not. Men as a generality are 100% not responsible for the actions of a vile individual.

Every time men laugh at a nickname like 'The Rapist', every time they get a 'funny' porn video in the group WhatsApp chat and don't call it out, or rape jokes, every time they dismiss misogynistic talk as 'locker room bantz', every time they go to a strip club or brothel on a stag do and 'what happens on the stag stays on the stag', every time they cover for each other....

It all adds up to a culture of seeing women as sub-human. This isn't just one evil person. Almost 3 women a week are murdered in the UK - I think something like 85 women have been murdered by men since Sarah Everard was killed. This is not an anomaly.

I absolutely agree with this and sadly I fear that is the majority of men.
WrapAroundYourDreams · 29/09/2021 22:46

@limitedperiodonly

That fucker hasn't even been sentenced yet and on the first page there was a woman saying NAMALT backed up by other women.

Sarah Everard was murdered by a man who planned her abduction, rape, murder and disposal of her body like she was trash. I cannot believe the women on here who are saying NAMALT but if you would like to come back to me you can.

I wouldn't mind betting that he abused many other women - his colleagues nicknamed him "The Rapist". These were police officers.. What the hell was going on in their heads? They are culpable just like the Met officers who broke up the vigil for her because they didn't like women getting uppity.

Men aren't the only ones. Look at Met Police Commissioner Cressida Dick who defended her officers and Home Secretary Priti Patel and the women on here bleating NAMALT,

Spot on @limitedperiodonly

Wish all the handmaidens would fuck off tbh, with their NAMALT.

middleager · 29/09/2021 22:46

Yes I do want to vent when my local police force posts this an hour ago:

MrsRobbieHart · 29/09/2021 22:48

Im starting to see more and more stories of women committing crimes or being involved

Are you verifying that they are women rather than just identifying as women?

BECAUSE WOMEN HAVE BEEN PERMANENTLY TRYING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT MALE VIOLENCE FOREVER.

So seriously, give your head a wobble when you're suggesting it's everyone's responsibility. Who do you think HAS been trying to effect change?

worriedatthemoment · 29/09/2021 22:49

@limitedperiodonly so no woman has ever committed a crime or covered one up?
We know more are committed by men but yes when some on here are saying all men are responsible , I don't think that is correct either
We are allowed an opinion as well

Pumperthepumper · 29/09/2021 22:51

You surely can’t believe that anyone has said no woman has ever committed a crime though?

You must see the difference between the number of violent crimes committed by men vs by women? Surely?

littlbrowndog · 29/09/2021 22:51

Must be these women

Anyone follow the coverage of the Sarah Everard case today and want to vent?
WrapAroundYourDreams · 29/09/2021 22:51

but im not saying women are all perfect

That's at least accurate. The handmaidens certainly do fuck all to help when they start with NAMALT along with all the handwringing about men's feelings

LexMitior · 29/09/2021 22:52

@littlbrowndog

And so it goes on 80 more women and children murdered by men close to them since Sarah was murdered

Why do men kill us. ?

There were two other reports today on the murder of women. One, a man who killed his neighbour with a piece of flex he brought around specially. His neighbour.

The other, a boyfriend, who strangled and then chopped his girlfriend into little bits and placed those bits a wheelie bin.

The fact is, the men you know are statistically the most likely to hurt you if you are woman or under 16. That is something women should really think about before saying NAMALT. I know its not something you want to think about, but that's the truth.

worriedatthemoment · 29/09/2021 22:55

@WrapAroundYourDreams don't tell me what I should do
You may of been trying to effect change but not everyone has
Society in general is more violent we have lesser sentences thats what I am getting at.
Every day we read if violent crimes taking place , certain crimes are even seen as not important now , not worthy of a police visit
There are men that are trying to change things as well , its the posters that say all men need to take responsibility for all crimes

WineAndMassage · 29/09/2021 22:55

@Tangletester

I feel so sad for her and her family. She never stood a chance. None of us would have stood a chance. I’m so upset.
Absolutely agree with this...
ShotgunShack · 29/09/2021 22:56

Yes here we are, thought I’d remembered this. A serving male officer actually guarding the search area when Sarah’s body was found.

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/mar/15/sarah-everard-met-officer-removed-from-duties-for-sending-offensive-message

The Met are continuing to harbour some utterly vile bastards.

OvaHere · 29/09/2021 22:56

@MrsRobbieHart

Im starting to see more and more stories of women committing crimes or being involved

Are you verifying that they are women rather than just identifying as women?

Quite. There's been plenty of male crime reported as female crime thanks to 'style guides' forced onto journalists. The upshot of that is that people start to believe women commit lots of violent and sexual crime on a par with men which makes it harder for us to address the frequent atrocities against women and girls.
KaptainKaveman · 29/09/2021 22:58

Absolutely bloody storming post @sleeponeday. 100 %

WrapAroundYourDreams · 29/09/2021 22:58

@worriedatthemoment hmmmm and which sex is responsible for the vast majority of violent crime?

Go on. One word answer, shouldn't be tricky?

LexMitior · 29/09/2021 22:59

You would have to live a very sheltered life to imagine that women and men have equivalent levels of sexual and violent offending. It is incomparable.

If I had to stay in a prison, it going to be a prison that doesn't have male prisoners of any kind. One is far, far more dangerous to me, as is the sex of the offenders who are in it.

Rhannion · 29/09/2021 22:59

I hope that vile man get a whole life sentence and the prison officers keep a very close eye on him as he will no doubt try to kill himself. He has already been self harming and he cannot be allowed to do what West and Shipman did.

worriedatthemoment · 29/09/2021 23:00

@Pumperthepumper yes i do see the difference but I also see an increase in womens crimes as well , which is also worrying and crimes committed by children.
I see society getting worse in general
Maybe its all just reported more so seems worse .
