Would you do this ADHD diagnostic quiz and share your answer?

counsellingresource.com/quizzes/adhd-testing/adhd/

I've done this quiz which is meant to provide an estimate of whether you might have ADHD. It shouldn't be used for diagnosis, there are lot of caveats for it.

But I am thinking "but surely everyone does that" about a lot of the questions. I'd be really interested to get a range of answers from a range of people, if anyone is willing to share.

For what it's worth, I've done it twice on different days, scored 76 and 62. Their threshold for "possible ADHD" is 70+. I don't really believe anyone can score less than 50 and I'd be fascinated to know if I'm wrong.

@dun1urkin

19. I found this really helpful to remind me how lucky I am, and how hard it must be at times for those that scored high on this Flowers
I consider ADHD my superpower on a good day. I can manage rooms full of people, emergency situations are fine, drop me into any country, I'm good.

I can't read an article for work. But any normie can do that Grin

ADHD is in our family and I have always felt I show traits, but only scored 56

olderthanyouthink · 27/09/2021 20:52

61 think I do have it but put off by the loooong wait time to get an assessment, would like to try the meds though

80, I have seen a lot recently about how women with ADHD present and I can see myself in a lot of behaviours. I don’t want to pursue a diagnosis or medication - but find some of the coping mechanisms helpful.

  1. Hmm...I've massively underachieved in my life, find it difficult to prioritise, struggle with maladaptive daydreaming and have often wondered about ADHD. But I'm not fidgety, or constantly on the go.
MrsTerryPratchett · 27/09/2021 20:53

Thanks so much for all the scores, it gives me a much better perspective, clearly I'm underestimating how much we all vary!

Having DH work from home has been an education. Head down, concentrating, ignoring distractions. Like a ROBOT, my DH.

I have wondered recently if I have adhd or ASD.

I've asked my GP for testing and he's said the NHS in our area has entirely stopped provision and that private diagnosis is not acceptable to the NHS either.

MrsMcCluskeysCat · 27/09/2021 20:54

I got 24

MarthaJonesPhone · 27/09/2021 20:54

10 for me.

GTAlogic · 27/09/2021 20:55

Ds has adhd and he got 83

tobypercy · 27/09/2021 20:55

Interesting how many people are mentioning autism/ASD too.

My DS is recently diagnosed with ASD - I wasn't surprised, but a lot of his traits are common with ADHD as well. And he gets a lot of those traits from me, I realised.

I'm a functioning adult but looking at blogs etc. from people with ASD and ADHD sometimes feels like they're talking about me. I have found it helpful just because I don't blame myself so much any more.

I got 27.

Maltedmilkdrinks · 27/09/2021 20:55

Don't worry. I have ADHD diagnosed a few years ago. I frequently think I don't actually have ADHD.
The main test really is if you don't tolerate the medication- if stimulants calm your brain then your brain is wired differently.

Do you currently self medicate with coffee? As in drinks cups n cups with little effect? Did you in your youth partake of recreational drugs and notice they didnt really hit you like they did others? Have you got school reports saying that you chatted too much or interupted or stared out the window? (Disclaimer these are not scientific ways to diagnose and I'm not a doctor).

LastStarfighter · 27/09/2021 20:55
  1. No ADHD.
Atla · 27/09/2021 20:55

73 - I have inattentive type ADHD. A lot of things I have learned strategies to help manage over the years but it's a constant effort.

Quiz was too long, I gave up.
Don't know what that says about me.

Heresmyhr · 27/09/2021 20:56

I got 31

banivani · 27/09/2021 20:56

45, and ironically I think I might well be on the spectrum for ADD and have family members who are. But I always find answering questionnaires like this difficult because I want to know how they define words like "cluttered", "static", and what exactly do you mean by "somewhat" as compared to moderately and who am I comparing to?
