Names that are never coming back

Names that been in common use since about 1850 (so nothing from ancient history like Ethelberger or whatever), that are well and truly dead, as in no babies are likely to be called this now.

How about:

Mortimer ?

My first name and middle name, DH's, DM's, my brother's, my late nan's, my BIL's and FIL's names are all on here

My dh's name is mentioned quite a few times here. Tbh he hates his name i don't like it either but mil regularly says how she chose a great name for him

My nans name was winifred, I don't know anyone else by that name and probably unlikely too either

My granny is Freida which I’ve not come across any others

There’s a girl in my nanny kids school called Alexa, I did wonder why parents would inflict that on a child these days

My DP has name that has cropped up a lot and he hates it so much he didn't want to follow the family tradition of our first born son having fathers name as a middle name. He wants his name to die out with him

I'm surprised Wayne hasn't had a come back yet, considering how popular DC/Marvel comics are at the moment. I don't think it's a particularly bad name. I can think of worse

Kevin, Brian & Deirdre are all ancient Irish names. They’re not going to die out anytime soon in Ireland.

True but Caoimhín, Briain (BREE-un) and Deirdre (DEER-druh, not pronounced DEER-dree, as is often the case in England) are much nicer names.

I'm now humming 'My Perfect Cousin' and 'Making plans for Nigel'..

newer more made up names that were fashionable 15 years ago maybe notbut just as Victorian names have made a come back I think names from the 30's and 40's will have a revival later on
if you had said 30 years ago that Noah would be the second most popular boy's name people would have shreiked with laughter

I know a teenage Tracy. Not brought up in the UK (lives here now) so no negative connotations for her. And she's cool as well. My youngest has no negative reaction to the name.

I’ve looked after a baby Gary in the last 10 years. Also an Alan and Brian.

There was a Gary in DD's class about 5 years ago. I believe he was a Gary Jr too poor kid. I personally would love to see the last of Cheryl and Greg.

Edith is lovely and I bet Ethel will come back though I dislike it myself.
