Has anyone ever went to school/worked with or just knew before they became famous? Just wondering as I don't know anybody who is famous 😀 and what were they like ?

My friend went to school with Harry Styles. Says he was pretty bright, nice lad, never in trouble, never stuck out much.

A premiership footballer lived opposite us for a while while we were growing up and he was in the MU youth academy. My brother was friends with him for a while. He had a bit of an ego and ended up in trouble with the police a few times.

I don’t know if this one counts as he was technically already famous when I met him but I didn’t know it - my friend’s brother was friends with Ralf Little. He was over at her house a fair bit while I was there and we all hung out together a good 3 or 4 times before it came up in conversation! He was just a normal, funny, bit-dorky, lad!

A friend of mine went to school with Vicky McClure - she was just and ordinary teen apparently which I suppose fits with her persona.

I was a couple of years below a soap actress at school. She was expelled. It was quite the scandal at the time, it doesn't feel right to name her and I don't watch soaps so I forget which one she was in (it might be corrie, or maybe emmerdale?). Tbh I don't even know if she's still in it!

My Brothers ex girlfriend went to school with Kiera Knightley. From my interpretation, the girls didn't take very kindly to her and gave her quite a hard time and were very mean, She May have been a tiny bit aloof (i.e cool and distant) but definitely no stick up her arse, raging ego, thought she was better than everyone else.
I always feel sad when I see her in a film, thinking about her shitty schooldays and hope she's happy now.

My Nan went to school with Joan Sims, they hated each other! My Dad also went to school with the guys from Depeche Mode but never knew them personally.

I use to work in a pup in North London that lots of actors frequented, turned down one actor and worked with a few wannabe celebs.

I flatted with a guy who went to school with Catherine Zeta Jones, he said she was very much a loner, as he put it, she thought she was better than everyone else, he also said she never seemed happy. It sounds like her mum was a classic pushy mum making her do lots of dance and drama and never letting her socialise with her class mates. I’m not sure if she has found memories of childhood but I did point out to him that I don’t think she has any complaints these days about her life…

I went to school her as well, although we only had one cross over year.

SIL went to school with Pete Docherty - said he was very very clever but quiet & she wasn't in his friendship group so didn't pay him much attention.

My parents were very friendly with a current opposition MP's parents - they would babysit us, my parents would babysit them etc. Said MP was in the year above me at the same school but I didn't have a lot to do with them. It's definitely someone you would have heard of and I bet they are a Mumsnetter!

Yes! I went to school with a famous author, my brother is a tv presenter, I was at university with a very famous academic/tv presenter/ writer (all in the same field), and I also know a comedian (though knew him when he'd already been in his first tv series) .

I can honestly say they were all utterly exceptional people always. The academic and author stood out from a young age as just being brilliant in every way- socially in particular. While they were academically very strong, I think it was the social side if them that was so memorable. Both of them just seem to need less sleep than most people! I remember that as teenagers. They partied well (though didn't drink too much), but were also first in the library and seemed very enthusiastic about everything. I'd say that, to a slightly lesser extent about the other two as well.

My partner went to school with someone who is an actress and starred in a Netflix show. She was nice at school and got all the best parts in the plays. She/her agent has shaved 3 years and counting off her age though…

That could be one of 1000s of people and is pretty meaningless to post honestly. Sorry but I still don’t get still why some people are posting riddles unless indeed you shagged the person or something similar in which case….don’t post Hmm

I went to senior school with someone who is very, very well known now and has been for a very long (20 years plus) time. I'm from Newcastle and I'm 45 if that gives anyone a hint.

I have a few snippets about them but nothing earth-shattering or particularly outrageous. Pretty normal lad tbh. Bit nerdy, had a thing for Playpeople figurines who he named and brought to classes with him.

There was a hilarious incident after he became fairly well known for the first thing he did but out of respect I won't share it here. It was absolutely hysterical though and still makes me laugh to this day.
